That doesn't explain why the Thing is drawing attention to itself by acting weird.
It doesn't act at weird and once again. Most of the crew weren't paying attention. Mac certainly wasn't and was back to his own isolated and lonely self, until the dogs were attacked.

No, the dogs only start barking once the Thing starts weezing heavily, clearly exposing itself as not a dog. When Clark brings it into the kennel and the Thing calmly lays down in the middle (very suspiciously) the dogs are fine and none the wiser.
Still early enough when they heard the wheezing.

If it's strong enough to dig that far under the ice in that short amount of time, why even hide at all? It could've just killed everyone through brute force alone. Or why not detach a small part of itself to hide in the ice, or any of the other numerous ways it could've done anything based on how it operates as an organism. It could've clipped its toenail and than have the toenail hide itself in Kurt Russel's beard till he rotated back to civilization
At this point you're just overthinking it and not what the script writers had in mind. There's only so much you can do. Especially with the technology and effects at hand in the early 80s. You can whine about it however you want, but I really don't care, so take it or leave it.

Now that I think about it: I never cared much for Tenchi OVA's world building nor background lore. I had some interest as a kid, but I gravitated more towards Tecnhi Universe's galaxy. Even though Universe had less of it, but got somewhat creative with it, despite being more straightforward. I honestly prefer Pioneer Comics Tenchi Universe, because we get to know a bit more about the galaxy, even though it's technically an alternate continuity. Sucks it went out of print, but the story at least has a satisfying conclusion, and can be taken as an extra adventure that happened somewhere in the Universe timeline before the movies.

Back on the point to the OVAs: I care more about the original cast/core group (Tenchi, Ryoko, Ryokoki, Ayeka, Sasami, Mishoshi, and Washu) than any of the Jurians, the extended family, nor do I care about the three goddesses (which Washu is one of them). The third OVA pretty much killed all of that. I appreciate somewhat the original author trying to make a shared universe, but a lot of it is shit that is all in the manual or never left Japan. With most people not learning until a decade or decades later about the extended universe. Not helping matters are that even in these spin-offs or one offs, all the characters features in those specific media are either annoying cliches, boring, or come off as lame, shallow, clones. Hell, one of the spin-offs is a 2 episode soft-core hentai that somehow made it into the States with a dub. The dub is awful; don't bother asking the name, because I already forgot. You wouldn't know it took place in the Tenchi OVA continuity, unless you looked up on a wiki page. Though there is one character that's basically a dark-skinned purple haired version of Ryoko (they don't have the same hair style though nor body type), and she's a similar backstory. The only difference being she can turn into were beast creature involuntarily, and is not a homunculi.

Outlaw Star has much more going for the world building and lore within its 26 episode run, than the decades spanning Tenchi OVA series. OS helps it case, because it remembers to have variety of humans, humanoid, and alien species spanning across the galaxy. With different factions that mentioned or hinted at, but don't take over the whole show. Yet let's you know, that things are happening or going on while the Outlaw crew are dealing with their own story and adventure.

Saw this powerful image again, and realized how much better Star Wars would be as a character drama focused on Vader. Focus on episodes 1-6, in order, strip out the muppets, politics, and all the "good guy" shit to tighten it down to a truly intriguing story of Vader's rise, downfall, and redemption; I'd pay yo see that.

Walter Hill's Another 48 Hrs. I don't find as bad people make it out to be. It does suffer from executive studio meddling, the two hour film being cut down to 95 minutes (RELEASE THE TWO HOUR AND 40 MINUTE CUT!), and has some continuity issues if you really paid attention to the first film. Other than those problems, it's still a good buddy-cop movie better than most of the buddy movies that came out in the 90s and early to late 2000s. There's still good suspense and well directed action.

I don't consider it Hill's worse film. That goes to Bullet To The Head. A much worse buddy cop movie, and one of the worse ever made in the entire genre. Your two leads don't have much chemistry (nothing against the actors, but it's the writing that suffers), shitty action (quick cuts and some minor shaky cam), and I found myself really not caring for the lead character played by Stallone. Once again, not his fault, and a case of Hill not caring about his writing nor directing in this film. I have feeling he just wanted a quick paycheck, because everything feels phoned in and feels like an imitation of his film making style. Say whatever you will about Another 48 Hrs., but Murphy and Nolte still had that chemistry and it works.

While I can't say it is the worst movie in the series, I find that out of all of the live-action Batman movies, The Dark Knight Rises is the least enjoyable for me, and the one I have the least interest in ever watching again.

Yeah, I'm also not a big fan. Batman is inherently silly, IMHO, and trying to be dark and serious just doesn't really work.

Been hearing some things bout the sequel that have peaked interest more than any of its marketing did. Mark Kermode had similar take but with far less videogame lore n history (must've missed the MGS2 release drama, twas the poor years where everyone else had consoles but my family lol)

If American media weren't so obsessed over looks, their comedy scene could flourish to something worthy of preservation. Allow weirder comedians into the spotlight - not faux quirky but weird! THe greatest know how to utilise and lean in to self-aware physicality and various perceptions of their differences to heighten or even redefine a good time. Not everyone needs to be conventionally attractive whenever a camera's around.and they aren't playing a villain lol.

someone made me watch an hour of SNL so had to vent to stave off madness

To be fair, SNL tends to be mediocre to bad and shouldn’t be seen as any barometer for American comedy at large. When it is funny, it’s great. But I’d say 80% of the time, it’s meh or cringe. The faux news desk segment, “Weekend Update with Michael Che and Colin Jost,” is about the only thing on SNL that is consistently and genuinely funny, mostly because the jokes are about as irreverent and offensive as possible and still remain safe for network television, especially when Che (a black man) and Jost (a white man) write jokes for each other to read off the teleprompter, script unseen. Let’s just say I’m surprised Che hasn’t gotten Jost’s ass beaten for some of the racist shit he's made him say.

Everything about this video reads like a cliche "not as good in my day or back in the day" bullshit, despite the fact that there is a bunch forgettable crap from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and so on. The only difference being there is much easier exposure, but you can choose not to watch or play and will find something better. I had to turn it off when said there is "nothing with cultural impact". Nothing against Echo, but he can fuck off with that shit.

The Sonic movies, Fallout TV series, Super Mario Bros. Movie, Venom, Spider-Verse, Transformers One Castlevania and it's sequel, The Batman and The Penguin, Arcane, Fear Street, Squid Game, Avatar 2 (as much as I hate it), Monterverse movies, Godzilla Minus One, Aqua Man, Attack on Titan, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, etc. I can go on all night. These things are still having impact, it's just we can access this shit nearly whenever we want and absorb at a faster rate than usual, that dopamine effect wears off fast and we're read for the next thing.

At the end of day 90% of everything is crap and it's the 10% we usually remember.

Nobunagun really doesn't need a sequel. I know there are fans of the anime begging for and want a sequel, but the anime has a fitting end and satisfying conclusion, with whatever loose ends tied up. Not that there were many loose ends to begin with. Not all anime needs multiple season, and I honestly appreciate the shorter anime that can still pull off great storytelling, fun characters, amazing action, or all of the above. I find this anime much better than anything Fate series related, and it shits on most action anime from the 2010s.

As a horror fan, and having watched 3 of his movies now, I've determined that Ti West's style is just not for me. He's all about slow build-up to a payoff that may or may not be worth it. And two out of the three times I've given him a chance, I didn't find that payoff to be worth it.

I didn't much care for Sean Connery as James Bond.
I'll go even hotter; I prefer Roger Moore as Bond over everyone else. But that's because I can't under any circumstances take the character of James Bond serious, and Roger Moore seemed to agree with this statement and played him as such.
