Whatever, just wash your hands.
Nope. Well. One item.
Hmm, well considering I just got to the ship, I'm still a ways away from hardmode so I suppose I shall find out then if I feel like it. Which will probably be not since I have metaphore to play on top of Persona 5 tactica.

I look forward to one day hearing about your struggle

No there is no mana mangement anymore. But it just requires you to exploit specific set ups, without that you will get brutally wrecked.

Also the hardmode mini games are dicks. which are also required for the platinum.
You should probably just keep at it. Are you really gonna let your favorite game of all time go unplatinumed?

Now at Junon, crows nest.

This is where I came across the piano minigame, tried it, and immediately vowed to never 100% this.

Granted it was super cool to see them replicate all possible notes, but I found playing the rhythm game with thumbsticksto be really awkward. Like, some parts were asking me to make sharp turns with both thumbstick, and sometimes they would slip out of my hands and I would miss the note.

Yeah I am just gonna pretend that piano mini game doesn't exist for the most part.

Fought phoenix in the combat sim; Holy shit, that was an annoying boss. Especially that flame of rebirth attack. Yes, I understand the idea is to interrupt the empowering flame, but despite throwing everything I had at it, with shiva, I still couldn't break it. And you aren't allowed to use items. Thank god I had revival earrings.

And I'm starting to think Aerith kinda sucks in terms of ATB. I swear it's the slowest filling rate of the entire group so far. She has amazing spells and abilities, I know that, but the time it takes to fill just one, she is already taking some beating.

Would you like a pro tip to make her easier to use?

Now I am past Junon and shinra-8. Holy shit, why do Tifa and Aerith look so fucking good in their soldier outfits? especially with the helmets off

The parade input minigame actually felt a lot harder here than in original. IIRC, all it needed was to match the march formation, and time the inputs correctly. Here, we have timing, hold, and rapid press, sometimes in chain of one another. And the way camera pans all over the place really is distracting. I think FF7R's Cloud dancing/cross-dressing sequence was done a lot better, because it was nowhere near as distracting as this. Granted the formations themselves are fucking amazing, but I feel I had no time to enjoy watching their movement.

I also wanted to talk about the moment that made me laugh really hard; Rude and the secret bald club. The fact that they have their own theme song was hilarious and glorious af. Rude was one of the more serious character, and the fact that he's standing in the middle, and singing along with the rest of the patron was... well let's just say i was out of breath.

My time on the shinra-8 ship was just as amazing, And you know what? I gotta appreciate the game from being able to seemlessly switch around being emotional, funny, somber, serious, hilariously serious, and sometimes kinda scary (i.e. Jehnova emergent). It really is an amazing chapter that captures the very essence of ff7 rebirth.

Now I am in Costa del sol. Gee, I wonder how Tifa and Aerith will look in their swinwears.

I can't speak to how it is in Rebirth, but because of the camera and the relentless pace the soldiers move past at, getting into the march formation is a lot more difficult than it needs to be, and making any mistakes at all in doing so will force you back into the alley with a significant penalty to your score. Honestly, it was all I could do just to reach the end of the street and move on with my life last time I played it.

Well....that depends on the customer. In your case......
Now I usually don't simp for anyone, especially a fictional character.... But for Aerith and Tifa in beachwear, I am making an exception.

But honestly, these two are probably one of the better-designed both in terms of how they look and their personality. Especially noticeable after the beach battle; The way Aerith describes holding a hatred for Hojo (very understandably too) completely contrasts her usual optimistic and cheerful personality. Tifa usually is one of the more level-headed ones in the party, but she can be competitive in queen's blood or open up about the simpler times at Seventh Heaven. Granted, Aerith and Tifa already had these personalities in the original game, but I think their characters are far better explored here.

And I think that's what makes them such facinating characters, as JRPG characters typically share the same personality trait. The angry loud-mouth, the socially akward intelligent geek, the noble one, the fun crazy villain, etc. But Aerith, Tifa, and other characters in the party seem to have that polar-opposite side that makes them unique.

And now I am getting more of Yuffie. I had to say yes to her joining the party just to shut her up. (if you can't tell, I am really not the biggest fan of her) I personally won't be developing bond with her, and just keep her for certain combat scenarios

There is a reason why I have a tifa obsession and it's only partially because of her chest.

My experience with the game, and this of course is about my as a player, led me to love Tifa and Yuffie as the best fighters. I'm always going to gravitate toward the get-up-close-and-whack character and I was able to understand Yuffie's range of abilities very quickly.
Only later when I started hitting walls and looked up stuff did I learn that Aerith is arguably the most powerful one- I saw people reck some serious sh** with her. But that is typical of me and RPGs- I never intuitively figure out the optimal way.

Well, Chapter 7 was interesting. I swear the original game had more of Barret's back story, including how he lost his arm. I mean it was great to see it in the new graphics, but I feel so much of it was just.... cut off. (pun intended)

This chapter I also feel had the most amount of party split, which did throw me off a bit, but it was also fun to see how different party make-up works.

Yuffie has kinda started to grow on me, but my god, I found her really hard to play during combat. I am not quite sure why she feels so hard to play. I think it has something to do with how her elemental ninjutsu works.

Also, as a dog owner myself, Red XIII is starting to become more adorable. Holy shit.

Now I am at the golden saucer. Cait Sith having a Scottish accent is fucking amazing.

Oh god, the foreshadowing from his fortunetelling hurts :(

And we have Zack section again. This is an alternate universe, right? And how shit, this universe looks way more darker; I mean both Cloud and Aerith are in coma, the rest of the Avalanche are captured, and everything has gone to shit. I am glad that he's alive in this universe, but my god, is this some sort of butterfly effect?

But hey, at least now I get to go on a nice date with Tifa!

Y'know, even though I never actually finished FF7R1 myself (I have watched a playthrough), I think I might have to get R2 once I finish (or give up on) Elden Ring after reading this. My interest's piqued.
