Chapter 10 is done.
I'm starting to think they are pretty much cramming down Chocobos being the only means of rides; There are very few areas I can access without gliding across the cannon.
The combat has become more tactical. It's not a bad thing, but a simple elemental weakness exploitation no longer gets things done, and filling up ATB bars has also become harder. Any materia related to ATB has become a must-equip at this point. Whenever I use access, they are always introducing new ways to pressure an enemy. I also find it weird that when it comes to elemental exploitation for pressuring, Wildfire, Snow flurry, and Static Shock abilities all seem to work really well, but any other elemental abilities (icy impulse, heatwave, etc) doesn't seem to trigger the pressure status.
Red XIII - or Nanaki, went through his character development. It's great and all, but I just can't get used to his actual voice. But learning about Gi people lore was fascinating, though!
Speaking of Gi people, while I do think they have such a fascinating history, they were super annoying to fight. Seriously, they stun lock for days! And they also resurrect each other? ugh....
Protorelic hunt for this region was rather emotional, because man, this new backstory of how close the splinter avalanche group used to be. And holy shit, Wedge dying from that fall was brutal. Another great character moments for Tifa and Barret, moving on from the guilt of their fallen comrades.
The gameplay is still funm but I'm also starting to think I'm feeling burn out from playing this game. The frequency of sessions where I play this game has become less, and going through each chapter has begun to feel like a chore. Supposedly there are 14 chapters in total, so I'm almost there?
