‘Stop Attacking Pedophiles!’ Ted Cruz Lampooned for Awkward Gaffe in Senate Hearing
Sen. Ted Cruz was at the center of a number of X jokes on Tuesday after he said Democrats and Republicans should come together to "stop attacking pedophiles"
To be fair to the preppers, gold would likely retain a larger portion of it's value than most currencies in those kinds of scenarios. Probably less valuable than things like food or guns pound for pound, but you're less worried about weight and more worried about volume when packing your bunker and gold is quite dense. There's just not going to be a scenario in which rare, shiny metal things don't appeal to humans but lots of potential scenarios where fiat money becomes either just paper or some lost bits on a busted server somewhere. I actually understand preppers being crazy for gold much more than preppers liking crpyto.somehow going to leave them top of the heap if the country/world collapses.
In a full-on apocalypse, gold or currency is basically worthless. People who want food, water and houses couldn't give a shit about shiny, yellow metal.To be fair to the preppers, gold would likely retain a larger portion of it's value than most currencies in those kinds of scenarios.
Flub, or Freudian slip?![]()

Hopefully. But I can't rule out his unconscious desire to stop people from attacking the pedophile he helped get elected as President.Hopefully the former.
Or people loyal to their group, which happens to include paedophiles. Any number of institutions will protect members that abuse children, and presumably not all the ones doing the protecting are themselves directly abusing kids.Whilst no-one wants to help paedophiles (except paedophiles)
Inevitably you're going to reach a point where people need a medium of exchange to address the inadequacies of barter. At which point rare shiny yellow metal is valuable again for exactly the same reasons it was adopted for that purpose originally in the distant past. If you're worried about having apocalypse-proof money, when things start to recover precious metals is a safer bet than most alternatives. Long term shelf stable food is probably a close second, but precious metals are much denser and you're generally volume rather than weight limited in your bunker.In a full-on apocalypse, gold or currency is basically worthless. Quiet, you. You don't want people to start calling you pro pedophile for criticizing them, do you?Whilst no-one wants to help paedophiles (except paedophiles), I am increasingly concerned that people making loud noises about stopping paedophiles are more likely to be making excuses for taking away everyone's freedoms than actually stopping paedophiles.
What was it? Reddit post got removedRemember folks, Republicans control the Presidency, House, Senate and arguably the courts, yet;
Going to a US Government website presents people with the following banner;What was it? Reddit post got removed

Maybe.The Republicans are trying to blame their shutdown on "radical left democrats".
This is a golden marketing opportunity for the democratic party, but they'll probably squander it.
They're doing it because the believe that Republicans will come off worse. It is not principled to defend healthcare.(even if it is principled to defend healthcare),
I don't know that party PR actually shifts the dial very much on shutdowns. Basically, they'll probably wait a few weeks to see who's getting most of the blame in polls, and the side that's coming off worst will fold.
Seems more prudent to horde the things that will actually get you through an apocalypse than to worry about what comes after.Inevitably you're going to reach a point where people need a medium of exchange to address the inadequacies of barter. It also makes me think of a movie quote from Look Who's Talking Too. "You know, you people really amuse me, stockpiling your canned food and your water in case of disaster. But when the shit really hits the fan and you're sitting over here with your stuff, and the guy next door has a gun, who do you think is gonna go hungry? Him, or you?"Seems more prudent to horde the things that will actually get you through an apocalypse than to worry about what comes after.
Ammo is useful, shelf stable, and easy to barter.
A statement no doubt coming from a man without precarity in his healthcare provision.They're doing it because the believe that Republicans will come off worse. It is not principled to defend healthcare.
But who's fault is that? Even if we take the most cynical take its still Republicans who insists on having an at best very murky view on healthcare despite this not even being very popular or rational.They're doing it because the believe that Republicans will come off worse. It is not principled to defend healthcare.
