I would just contact support, say it was never delivered and get a refund.
Considering that I have the thing and it isn't actually damaged as far as I can tell - our garden's grass is pretty soft and it didn't rain overnight last night - I'd rather just leave it at a strongly worded email and a promise not to engage any more package-tossing delivery drivers.

Amazon does have a rate system for the delivery, give it a bad rating.

Believe it or not, still not the worst experience I've ever had getting a parcel delivered, but that's OT.
Worst delivery I've had was from wayfair, they delivered it, somewhere and they wouldn't refund without the carrier saying it wasn't delivered but ups would only say it was delivered.

Worst delivery? Years ago, I'd ordered a signed copy of a newly-released book from my favorite author. I waited received a "delivered" notification email, but never actually saw it. I was going back and forth with the site AND the postal service for about 3-4 days trying to figure out where it was. Right when I was ready to give up, I was coming into my apartment and noticed a a box tucked away behind an overgrown bush by my front door. Apparently, the delivery guy thought hiding it from the recipient was about as prudent security measure as can be. 4 days it sat outside; thankfully it didn't rain because legend has it signed books don't do well left exposed to the rain.

As long as we're talking about worst delivery stories:

I was having trouble finding a physical copy of Shin Megami Tensei V around the time it came out, so I decided to order a copy online because even with express shipping, it was still less than buying a digital copy and I'd have the cartridge. The express shipping said it would take 3-5 business days through a courier named Toll. On the third day, Toll said my parcel was out for delivery, only for it to end up back at the depot. I sent them an email asking what was going on and got a boilerplate reply, and the next day it went out for delivery again only to end up at a completely different depot. I stayed home that entire day and didn't see anything that could be a delivery vehicle.

At the start of the fifth day, I wrote another email to Toll asking what was going on, and they didn't even try to deliver my game that day. So after 5PM, I wrote an angry email... to the people that sold the game in the first place, saying that if they can't even select a reliable courier who will deliver packages in the quoted time frame, I'm not going to buy anything else from them. Managed to find a copy in a physical store that day as well, so at least I had a copy even if Toll lost the other one and refused to admit it.

So, the next day was a Saturday, and I woke up to find two emails in my inbox, one from the seller apologizing profusely for the inconvenience, and one from Toll saying that my package would definitely be delivered that day. And, what do you know, it actually was. So now I had two copies of the game, one of which had arrived extremely late, and as far as I can tell, only because the seller pressured Toll on my behalf - there's no way they'd deliver on a weekend just for an angry customer, but an angry seller could have threatened to go elsewhere to pressure them into it.

Moral of the story: complaining always works, iff you can find the right person to complain to.

Logistics is one of the most frustratingly arcane things to exist. And from the outside its even worse to try and figure out. I managed the sending and receiving for my work area for about a year and tracking where shit went - admittedly some of it to some pretty remote parts of Australia - was utterly fucking wild and done for reasons that made no sense to me.

But yeah, squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Black Friday sales have started.

I picked up a new PS5 controller as well as a turtle neck and a knitted polo. Saved over $200.

I'm rather tempted by a qd-oled monitor. Anyone have one to compare to a normal lcd?

A new pair of sneakers.

I have an old pair of Converse sneakers that I absolutely love and have been wearing since junior year of high school. They're nearly 20 years old, and needed to be replaced. They're leather, and I don't think this model is even made anymore, but they're kind of amazing. They might have been some limited time colab or something, I literally can't find a single picture of them on the internet. After 18 years they still actually look pretty good, the upper is made out of a quality leather. The problem is the midsole and the outsole are practically falling part at this point. I've re-glued a couple of spots over the years, but the inside of these shoes is basically destroyed.

So i bought myself a new pair of sneakers made with vachetta leather. It's an extremely natural leather, no pigmentation, no top coat, etc, so it starts off fleshy pink and then patinas and darkens over time due to exposure to oils, moisture, and sunlight. They should end up developing a lot of character and looking really unique in a few months/years.

I highly doubt you'll be able to do this for a decent price in America, but if you ever find yourself travelling in Southeast Asia you could try getting your Converse resoled. This cobbler back home converted some Chuck Taylors into a goodyear welted shoe (although how nice it now looks is debatable).

Lol that's a monstrosity. It looks like it would make me 2 inches taller.

Vulcanized shoes aren't really resoleable, because no cobbler has the equipment to reapply the foxing and bond it to the outsole. Yeah, you might be able to cut off the old outsole and glue on a new one, but it's just going to look wrong without the vulcanized construction.

Bought an RTX5080 using the 20% off coupon I won from the raffle I got from my purchase of a 9800X3D and 64gb of 6000mhz CL30 memory 3-4 weeks ago.

Was planning on doing my new build next summer, but recent events have gotten me skittish, so I already pulled the trigger on some stuff.

I got Shinobi: Art of Vengeance Digital Deluxe Edition on sale from $29.76. I suggest getting this now before the sale ends! I will have to get Dancin Divas later.

Probably for the best. Prices are going to be skyrocketing for a good long while, and once they stop, they won't start lowering for a very long time afterwards.
Yeh, I know. The ram sticks I bought a little under a month ago are now basically double what I paid. Aside from that, there was a minor black friday discount on the cpu, and the coupon knocked off an appreciable chunk off the gpu's price, so those three components were probably as good as I'm gonna get for a good while,. And I'm still good for storage, so no extra costs there. PSU is also still good.

I also got an Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 AIO cooler today. The ol Noctua air cooler in my current one does well, but it's big and heavy, and while I didn't check, probably also no longer compatible with current chips. And Megekko was was selling it cheap.

Now all that's left is a mobo, but that can wait a while, since prices aren't very likely to spike. Might even lower due to decreased demand. And a new case. Mid tower this time. Old one is fine, but a particularly big and heavy full tower, and the front IO is really outdated, and I just want something smaller.

I would suggest getting the mobo sooner rather than later to make sure that there aren't any issues with the parts you bought. If there's an issue with the CPU or GPU you can return them or get them RMA'd while you're still picking out the rest of your components.

Nothing is worse than closing up your PC after getting all your parts, trying to boot it, and finding out that your GPU has a manufacturing issue and it's out of its return period and now you have to RMA it with the manufacturer and you'll get a new one within a month...maybe.

I suppose that's true, and I've been splurging anyway, so might as well.

I ordered a kinda expensive cellphone case from Dbrand. I gotta say, I like it so much more then I expected too. I tended to get just a cheap case for my phone but a good high quality one feels so good to hold and even look at. Wouldn't have thought that an expensive cell case was worth it, but damn if I don't think it was.
