So the first ship in the class isn't named after said class, as is tradition? Interesting. Calling it, Trump wants an aircraft carrier (re)named after it.

Anyway

Looks not unlike Hitler's proposed monster battleships which also didn't get made because of how inherently stupid the idea of making them was.

Though others are saying they are actually going to be a new frigate or destroyer, and not remotely like what was described.

They're just going to be called Deviant-class long term, almost certainly.

There are two reasons Trump would put his name on something: it's either to use that thing to glorify himself, or use his name to draw attention to that thing. Putting his name on the Kennedy Center is the former, I suspect this one is that latter, if they had just called them Defiant-class, people wouldn't be talking.

Ah, but they had announced two new ship types, one of which is a frigate, the other these 'battleships', or whatever they actually are.

I enjoy the assurance that it'll be the best-looking. Very important.

Yes, they do need frigates. Their last related projetcs were failure, so they really need a new type that is both modern and affordable in relevant numbers. (Sure, they could buy in Europe where navies are far more frigate heavy, but nah...)

So it is not purely vanity.

This however... a year ago i would have sworn is satire.

I don't think it even needs real victimisation: protecting the president's reputation is enough.
The law mandating the release of documents does however set limits on what can be redacted. Which requires either outright openly ignoring the law, or coming up with some sort of justification, however flimsy, why what you are doing fits the law. While Trump might not care to simply ignore the law, some of his minions might because they do not innately share his immunity to all laws and cannot be guaranteed he will pardon them of any future charges (or even be in a position to if/when such charges happen).

Nicki Minaj is married to a rapist, and her brother is a rapist (I can't remember which one raped a little kid), and she's defended them both, so it'd not terribly surprising who she supports. Also, an anti-vaxxer, she was the one claiming her cousins testicles swelled to grapefruit size or something after getting the covid shot.
I never knew any of this. Fuck her, and fuck her shit family.

Vance being shit again.

There is something very wrong with the music industry. The film industry has its share of skeletons in the closet but the music industry just seems to be organized crime all the way down. Everyone seems to be either a predator, covering for a predator or being preyed on.

They're being called "battleships" because these were historically the largest ships (not including carriers), and it makes Trump sound big and important. Arguably even cruisers don't exist anymore (in practice larger destroyers grew to blur the lower boundary of cruisers).

It's not really clear what a battleship would be in the modern era, but no-one sane would build them: they'd mostly just make for a gigantic target with even more embarrassment were it sunk. And when the aim is to protect the aircraft carriers, providing yet another behemoth to defend and diluting the defensive capabilities is just idiocy.

Which is why I highly prefer most independent music makers nowadays. Especially those on sound cloud or YouTube.

Andthen there was D4vd, who went from independent artist making songs for his YouTube videos to minor viral hit, to record deals, to 15 year old girlfriend found decapitated in his car in like 3 years of fame. Don't know if that's a point against even indie people, or if signing made him do it.

That's not because we hate Europe, we brought the Beretta pistol, and many British, Italian, German, and even France technology for use.

-Ex. French nuclear reactor maintenance, German 120 mm MBT cannons to fire sabot darts, British Rolls-Royce engines, and many things from BAE. Not to mention ASML's lithography machines.

It's because, as of right now, US military procurement is badddd. Especially large naval ships. We couldn't even create a good Zumwalt contract without stupidly adding railguns vs VLS cells, a dumb idea from the start for peer-to-peer or even near-peer-to-peer fights. The railgun was cheaper in theory; if it worked would lack the range to engage enemy surface action groups(SACs) fielded by Russia or China. Also, parking it close by offshore is just asking for a missile to hit it, or having to expend more air defense(AD) missiles like vs Yemen, which would also cost money, and the designer/procurement person in charge didn't even ask to make it up to snuff, the radar was literally worse than the Arleigh Burke Flight destroyer and needed to likely be upgraded. Many people on credible defense on Reddit were calling it a colonial cruiser to kill poor countries with terror cells like the Iowa-class battleship.

Don't even get me started on the littoral combat ships, which lacked over-the-horizon air defense, which means they would be sitting ducks against any competent military in various scenarios.

So Trump got accused of rape in the files? For fucks sake we all knew this already. The entire electorate knew this and they still voted for him. America should stop pretending they care about this because they absolutely do not. If they did Trump would never have been a viable candidate, let alone a winning one.

No, the US knowingly elected a rapist, as well as knowingly elected the guy who did a coup against the US. Because punishing Biden over imagined slight was more important than keeping the country(and more importantly the world) safe from Trump. And now Trump is unsurprisingly a disaster and constantly sucking off Putin they finally decided to care? Now they care? When its too late and the damage is done?

Opportunism plain and simply. A deeply malicious electorate was desperate to find reasons, any reasons to support Trump to vent their frustrations, and now they got that out of their system and the rest of the world is stuck with that vermin for four years they suddenly pretend to have standards again? Let the rapist sit out his term. If having a rapist in office was the price the electorate deemed fair to pay in order to vent their frustrations its only fair they'd be stuck with him when they cravenly changed their mind. Besides that piece of filth Vance will just get the job if Trump is impeached.

Some of these accusations are for things that have not been publicly alleged before. Some absolutely grotesque stuff.

That said, the ones I've read are just tip calls into the FBI. Anyone can make them, and every modern President undoubtedly has a dozen untrue tip calls about them. I haven't seen any (yet) that contain substantial evidence of previously unknown accusations.

---

So, presumably we know now that many of the redactions were done in such an unprofessional way that they could be easily reversed in Adobe or even Word.

And... many of the redactions are of things that are not related to protecting the victims or ongoing investigations (the two grounds for redaction specified in the Act).

So the Epstein files allege that Trump is complicit with one of the rape victims being taken on a boat and the baby she got from the rape being thrown overboard. The easy assumption being that the rape baby was Trump's own.

Is that true? Dunno. Maybe, maybe not. Not every allegation in those files will be true. But it certainly comes across as something Trump would do. We know he did a coup against his own country, that he's a rapist and much more. Why would this be where he draws the line? I'd not yet name it as fact, but it being true is more likely than it not being true due to who Trump is

This tip was sent in 2020, while Trump was President of the United States. The tip claims that event happened in 1984, several years before Epstein and Trump would have even known each other. The person leaving the tip tells you explicitly that she's just trying to get to a detective that called her.

You are well aware it isn't true. Don't lie.

If I planned to ''deceive'' anyone I'd have put it a lot less neutrally.

I don't even have to ''lie'' about anything. Those allegations floating in the air and being a perfect fit with Trump's image is already damaging enough.
