To be fair, they actually let Bluepoint finish and release quality projects. Unlike MS which just sucks in all the small studios, promises support, and shuts them down before something even gets released.
That "new combat system" probably needs to be taken with a grain of salt. At least I hope so, because actually fucking around with the combat of the classic games feels like a recipe for disaster.
We'll see how it goes. I know it's still way too early to tell. This was all I could find.

Obviously studios shutting down sucks but I’m caught at a weird place on this one cause having a different studio handle remakes/remasters indicates to me that the original devs aren’t really interested in remaking the game and so having a studio only known for remaking other people’s games isn’t all that interesting. Like the trails of remakes for ps5 are handled by falcom, they didn’t have someone else make them, so clearly they actually wanted to make them and it wasn’t some outsider force deciding this. Same for persona 3 and 4. Atlus handles them.
Yep, figured. And considering all the rest of the money that got burned on Concord and the cancelled Last of Us live-service game, it looks like Blue Point, as their smaller support studio, was the sacrificial lamb. Gee, Sony veered away from what made them money in order to make a lot more money and it's costing them money. Good job, whoever the fuck decided to go all in on live-service.

A game they were more than likely told to make by Sony themselves during their "live service is the future"-fever dream and now they have the audacity to shut them down over it.
