Opened the video randomly at the point where Faye says "There has to be a way out of here". Wish they'd gone with a personality that wasn't Reboot Lara Croft, who spent her whole tenure stating out loud that X has to bend to her immediate needs. Obviously this is merely the game telling the player to keep trying to find the one contextual prompt, but boy did it get on my nerves.

"There has to be a way out of here".
Oh please, plenty of male characters (see any COD/Gears games, or those modeled after the former two) have stated the obvious like that during gameplay or cut-scenes since the PS1 era and early CD Rom gaming on the PC or Sega CD. It's nothing Reboot Lara "invented".

I never said that she did, just that it was her whole personality. I must do this, there has to be that, etc. Always confused and exhausted yet certain that everything will go her way.

Again, there are plenty of male characters guilty of that too, or the hidden implication without dialogue. 2013 Lara is not really special on this either. The dialogue will have more going on, then what you're overly worryingly assuming. Let's stop parroting Yahtzee's bullshit. He can dislike TR 2013 and Horizon all he wants, but just because a female character says I have to/must do this, is not a sign of bad writing, nor their entire personality. You're basing off nothing, but already negative filtered bias, and constant asinine speculations with assumptions.

I wanted a new protagonist in a new pantheon even before Dad of War. I even was open to a woman, which is why I said "their/them" instead of "his/him." But not this. This is just more of the bland, inoffensive, pretentious reboot shit. I ended my review of that first mediocre "art" game with,

"I know people were tired of the old Kratos. Instead of turning him into something he just isn't and could never be, they should have replaced him. Written a new protagonist with their own weapons and mechanics. They should have kept the fixed cinematic camera angles and used cutscenes (that actually cut away) sparingly, but come up with a new combat system. They should have also kept the gore, brutality and titties instead of pretending their game has to be taken seriously by art snobs. They shouldn't have built their game with the kinds of production values and photorealistic graphics whose costs so severely limit the actual game part of it, particularly the enemy variety."

Me playing Until Dawn 2 is entirely dependent on it having scripted camera angles. I will not touch it if it's over the shoulder like the remake.

But Sony may not port it anyway and I don't see a scenario in which I'd buy another PlayStation. They claimed the single player game ports are over. Claimed.

Universal likes. Players are loathsome.

The pick axe is back too, meaning more of that boring Survivor-trilogy climbing. But then every modern studio game is full of slow climbing, so what else can you expect?

On top of all the ways the gameplay is still not Tomb Raider, it's depressing that they're giving us this same story, AGAIN. The first adventure in a pulp series like this should not mean anything. I mean, it's not like she's starting out, so who gives a shit? She's already well experienced at the beginning of the 1996 game. Tell a new story. The other game is? Yeah, I know. Tell one more new story!

As for the conversation between one who pretends to ignore me and the one person on the whole internet that I have on Ignore, Survivor trilogy Lara too frequently appeared distressed or bored rather than determined. The actress constantly sounded like she was having asthma attacks, and yeah, telling herself she could do this was lame. I want Lara to say almost nothing. Tomb Raider should be really visual instead of carried by dialogue, in the way many westerns are. A couple of bad guys, a villain (maybe one brief ally who doesn't speak English), but she carries her guns more for wildlife and weird monsters. The developers and showrunners all make it too much about the character.

Visually, the pants were blander than the shorts and she lacked a practical backpack in order to accommodate the stupid bow. Tomb Raider also shouldn't look realistic, because the world is just not. At all. The worlds and characters should be stylized.
