What is this? A smuggling operation for ants?

Apparently there's enough demand for African ants in Europe and the US for smuggling them to be a worthwhile criminal enterprise.

But that is not the wtf.

It's that they individually packaged 2000 of the little bastards.
Wildlife smuggling is wild. At times it makes me think it’s like the extreme sport version of narcotic smuggling. Because while it’s risky, you can technically smuggle heroin in your stomach. But you can’t do that spiders or snakes.

JMFC. A lot of people failed that day, but that doctor in particular better be out of a job.
Wow...that's...

One wonders how common that is, and how often the officially dead person dies due to lack of care before it's discovered they aren't dead.

It is a thing that happened often enough that people once included bells in coffins and similar matters. It is less common nowadays because of better training and more thorough testing, but people sometimes really get mistaken for dead.

True, though people thinking you are dead long enough to be buried would take even longer...not sure how common it was, but was a common fear.
