Getting through Shadow of the Colossus quite nicely now (remake of course), there's a lot to respect and it is a thing of intense beauty. But sweet Satan's supple spuds, that camera is not my friend! Also, totally personal hang up here...everything cool appears locked behind time trials and I bloody hate time limits. Otherwise...lovely stuff, audio visually impressive too; it somehow feel more "next gen" on a 4k screen than most modern releases capped at 30fps or less. *cough* shadow warrior 2 plz fix *cancerous cough*

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir. Hadn't played the original since the PS2. God I missed this game.
You picked a very good time to revisit Vanillaware since their newest game is coming out in 2 months. Look for 13 sentinels, it seems to be even more story-heavy than OS.

Real Bout Fatal Fury on my Neo Geo mini. A 2D fighting game with ring outs. That is fucking amazing. Played as Blue Mary; a grappler character. SNK games are tough. Especially their fighters. I played Mark of the Wolves as well. Fatal Fury's version of 3rd Strike.

Mark of the Wolves is the shit, I used to play that all the time when I was a kid I think it's the only fighting game in which I actually bothered to learn combos, well that and Last Blade 2.

I got Last Blade 2 during its recent remake. It even had netplay so I had to try it. The crouching punches in that game feel incredibly OP. I was using the edgelord with the hawk and electric attacks. Fun for a while but very dated. Never tried Garou though, that one prolly would be deeper. I already have so many fighters on my hands at the time that revisiting old stuff is low priority haha.

I was mostly a Capcom kid growing up, but still played a lot of SNK games. Most were non fighting games though aside from the occasional FF/KoF/AoF and SamSho. Mark of the Wolves I did not play until I wanna say 2003/04 with my older brother's college buddy.

You're probably right I don't know much about fighting games though, those are just the ones I liked as a kid, my main in TLB2 was Kojiroh which is the girl that's pretending to be her dead Samurai brother.

I get it, I was a bit too young for Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat fever so growing up in the 2ks in México King of Fighters was probably the most popular fighting game so I tended to gravitate more towards SNK, and since there was so much interest in KoF a lot of the other SNK fighters would be brought over here often even in Japanese, so I guess I was more of an SNK kid since that was actually super popular in México until like 2005, that's why while in the USA everyone received the news for Terry in Smash with a collective meh, while everyone in México was super hyped over it.

Really? From what I remember, most people in the USA that knew Terry was excited. I was definitely happy and not expecting him to be in Smash Bros.

I heard people from Mexico loved KoF around the mid 2000s from the fan sites and other fighting game players I encountered.

It wasn't everyone, but a very large amount of the user base was tweeting shit like "Who the hell is Terry Bogard?" and complaining that a very obscure character was joining, apparently in the USA not everyone knows about KoF, that response was very heavily publicised here in México mostly because to us it was amazing that someone wouldn't know, here KoF and by extension Fatal Fury is about as popular as Street Fighter so someone asking who Terry is is the same as asking who Ryu is.

That being said the negative reception might have been exaggerated by the Mexican press, since like I said KoF is really big deal here, so people in the USA and the UK not knowing about it generated a lot of clicks.

They must have. Outside of Twitter, the reactions I've seen were exictment or surprise for people in the US & UK for that matter.

I bet a majority of them were the younger generation of gamers or people who've only been gaming for 2-5 years. I know you were just giving info on what you saw, but I highly doubt Twitter respresent the entire USA or UK gamers that don't who know Terry is.

Well I'm not a member of the smash community so it's more based on what my friends who are into it were saying so it could be wrong, all I know is that I really enjoyed playing as him when I finally tried it, so it's likely I'm wrong as I didn't really look into it.

Continuing Bloodborne: I went into Old Yharnam, but even though I didn't attack anything, the guy on the tower shot at me anyway. I went up there to fight him, but between his insane HP and DEF and the fact that he had blood vials that full-healed him, I don't stand a chance of beating him any time soon. Even my Visceral only dealt about 15% of his health.

So, screw that noise. After finding the Forbidden Woods lantern, I decided to go to Hemwick instead, and successfully defeated the Witch of Hemwick. Unfortunately, that didn't get me any story progression, so it's back to the Woods.

You probably already figured this out, but killing the witch gets you the rune tool, which is rather nice.

As for the guy on the tower, You can knock him off, which kills him instantly. That's how I dealt with him, anyway and I hit that area I think before I did the witch.

Currently achievement hunting in Halo MCC. I really need to get more into multiplayer again. Last time I got hooked on multiplayer was probably back in 2012 with Battlefield: Bad Company 2. My first round of Halo 3 on PC was Schwatguns, and it was an absolute nostalgia-filled blast. Oddly enough it was on the Snowbound map, which was also the first map I played in the multiplayer beta back in 2007.

Taking a break form W101 and played so more SFV. Getting better with combos and buffering inputs. I did about 7 arcade runs. Three were in SFV mode (Chun-Li, Ed, & R. Mika), two were in SFI mode (Ryu & Ken), and two in SFIII mode (Laura & Ibuki).

I've begun a Halo 3 Solo Legendary run. I'm currently on Floodgate. It's not so bad! Though I might eat those words when I get to certain levels. The Cortana Level was quite miserable even on Heroic. I thought the Brute Chieftains during Crow's Nest and Tsavo Highway would all be abject misery but I somehow managed to get past them easier than I did in Heroic. Probably because I knew what to expect.

So far, it's nowhere near as bad as lets say.... Truth and Reconciliation on Legendary. Once you board the ship and the gold elites start flooding into the room, it's always a miserable experience. My ability to twitch headshot anything isn't quite what it used to be back in my younger days.

H3 Brutes also just seem like easier enemies in general compared to the Elites from various games. Being able to pop off their armour and not have it regenerate vs perpetually regenerating shields. Though the huge amount of Brute Shots can make life fairly difficult, but those are easier to see and dodge than the impossible fire rate pin point accurate plasma rifle fire from Legendary Elites.

While my Project is underway, I’m concentrating on some lower power games. Ara Fel (an old SNES-styled rpg) and Life is Strange.

If you can approach the guy in the tower from behind you don't have to fight him.

You do however have to figure out what you have to do to approach him from behind.
