But it is a debate that must be had, and since no forum was really created for those people protesting to share their opinions there might not have been an alternative.
It absolutely is a debate that needs to be had. I'd rather no wing of the centre-left attempts to pretend they can't possibly have any questions to answer or improvements to consider.

Probably less than you think
It's much more complex than that, though.

Firstly, you don't know how much any of those things affect people's voting. 70% can favour to some extent government run healthcare, but where does it fit in their priorities to change their vote? And what happens to that support if their taxes go up to pay for it (even if they no longer have to pay for health insurance)? Never mind that time after time, people might support a policy, but they don't support a specific bill that carries out that policy because the opposition do a spectacular hit job on it portraying it as socialism, economic disaster, taking away freedom, blah blah blah.Just about everyone who contributes to this forum is, compared to a national average, very highly politically aware - but it's the national average that wins elections. Someone can sit there and argue for all sorts of socialistic policies (more welfare, government-run healthcare, etc.) and yet will recoil with disgust at the mere mention of socialism. That's what the real world is like.

How many manufacturing jobs did Trump bring back to Ohio? Arguably, pretty much none. There were still well fewer than pre-crash, all Obama and Trump did was creep back to the long term - declining - average. But an awful lot of the people there seemed to think he would; at bare minimum they felt he was talking their sort of talk even after four years of mediocrity. There is all to often a decisive gap between public perception of policy and actual policy.

And this is perhaps my frustration with progressives. They are possibly the worst bunch of losers in the USA when it comes to translating theoretically popular policies into nationally electable platforms. They show polls in their support, they complain about biased media, they make comically snarky internet comments, they fill city centres waving placards, and they don't budge many people's opinions an inch even with their notionally popular policies.

Now, I know it’s easy to call Bannon irrelevant, but with Stone pardoned and currently bringing the whole gang back together this is possibly important.

Cool.

So, how can progressives fix their messaging that gets huge, highly effective "spectacular hit jobs" against policies that should be very popular?

Because progressives aren't sitting on a lot of billionaire media conglomerate donors, you know? We got $20

Donald Trump and anything meaningful goes about as well together as shit and oatmeal. We're talking about a guy who, for the last four years, spewed bullshit, flipflopped and accomplished almost nothing of positive consequence, heck, he barely even accomplished any of the things he was elected on.

At this point he should be disregarded until we have actual results, or we should just rely on trusted sources for summaries of his announcements.

Oh hey, Jon Ossoff did just well enough to confirm a runoff for senate there. He’ll probably still lose, but that’s... nice?

A good start might be to stop doing stuff like mindlessly upvoting each other's comments pretty much irrespective of content. It makes it feel like a cult.

No
Edit: love that the natural conclusion of “my menchies are hate speech” is “their menchies are a cult.”
Edit2: Of course the Tory gives you a like for that. Clearly there is a “bullied by Revy” cult on this site.

Is there a dating couple having an argument in the background of the stream setup?
Edit: the reporter just laying out how all of this is bullshit at 6:28 is excellent.
