Or maybe just two smallish tangerines.I hope this acceptance lifts a huge boulder off his chest.
yeh but suing a store, a corporation unless it's a mom and Pop store = annoying but the stores likely have legal teams and things in place.I'm simply talking about people in this thread distressing over how the myriad combinations of identities "should" be referenced. It's an existential question, but a worrisome one? No; doesn't matter. People have been "slipping and falling" in stores and subsequently suing for eons; no surprise that some atypical gender identifiers can be manipulative assholes just like "regular" people. We can't make the exceptions indicative of the whole.
Which Gender will be applied though? The one on legal documents or the self identified one?You do realize those laws are for landlords or your boss right? Like so your landlord or boss can't harass you by constantly referring to you as the wrong gender or just being an insulting dick.
Tumblr is pushing for Gender Fluid to be an idea where peoples Gender changes based on various factors such a the time of day or the weather. If you're an employer, then yes, it is a different discussion in terms of discrimination, but not one as potentially complex as you're "worst case-ing" it to be. Correct me if I'm wrong, but gender fluid people aren't chameleons; they don't change from moment to moment; they don't come to work on Monday as a straight man and show up on Tuesday as a lesbian woman, and I don't think the vast majority are throwing it in everyone's face, daring people to misrepresent them for spiteful, litigious purposes. I'm sure there were a lot of people in the '60s who thought the world was ending when black kids were finally permitted to learn in schools next to their lily white children.
Certainly legal documents, but probably also self identified also based on the harassment.Which Gender will be applied though? The one on legal documents or the self identified one?
Sued and destitute? No.Certainly legal documents, but probably also self identified also based on the harassment.
Idiots seem to assume that just by accidently misgendering someone they would be sued to destitute but that is a bold faced lie, its like saying that because we have castle doctrine we can legally shoot cops who step foot on our front lawn.
True. But trans people (like most minority groups) don't have the power to do that. The law is going to err on the side of not actually protecting minorities from harassment. Yay kyriarchy (and I spelt that right the first time). You cannot have any sort of public guidelines involving speech, or harassment, when the people likely to label you for that harassment can move the line of what is considered harassment on a whim based on their own fantasy.
You can be sued for anything, I was sued when a motorcyclist ran into my car. The judge will probably throw the case out or she will lose and be forced to pay for it, which sucks but welcome to how the legal system works. If you want to get really annoyed read up on slap suits. Actually, here.Sued and destitute? No.
Facing a pain in the arse legal trial? Yes
Some people are malicious and the first failure would be all they'd need to kick off.
People Yaniv took to court for refusing to wax her balls basically had to stop operating their business for up to a year or more and they got $2,000 compensation / damages. That's it. That's before the new law came in. That's with Yaniv on paper at the time and in legal documents still being classed as male.
What Yaniv has been doing a lot of offering to settle cases to get easy money knowing it's easier for them to pay out than win the case but lose potentially more in the long run due to not being able to carry on life as normal.
Difference is in Canada they have a human rights tribunal that it has to go through. You can be sued for anything, I was sued when a motorcyclist ran into my car. Yes yes, congratulations you have found a single litigious crazy person. We have plenty here, in fact our lame duck president is currently involved in many cases with no merit. You can sue for anything.Difference is in Canada they have a human rights tribunal that it has to go through.
There's another Yaniv case where Yaniv is accusing a reporter of taking photos of her in the bathroom of a court house. No photos exist, no-one other than Yaniv is saying such photos exist but it's still going through the human rights courts.
The only thing stopping even more cases is Yaniv has failed to pay after losing the waxing case so far.
In human rights cases they either need a settlement or a full ruling which is used or future law cases as such so there's plenty of room for abuse there.
There's plenty of litigious crazy people out there. Thing is in Canada and other countries there is no real Anti-slapp protections as such when human rights claims are being brought up.Yes yes, congratulations you have found a single litigious crazy person. Then they should probably add those. There's plenty of litigious crazy people out there. Thing is in Canada and other countries there is no real Anti-slapp protections as such when human rights claims are being brought up.
Except the problem being often in other countries lawsuits work a little differently to the USA where in the USA you have to prove harm, which as I'm pretty sure I discussed in a different thread with you is hugely open to abuse as is as proving harm isn't as easy as it sounds. Then they should probably add those.

Because they hoped people wouldn't abuse the system like some have decided to and hen it was conceived they probably didn't think it would end up being used as it is.Then they should have thought about possible abuses when they were coming up with their legal system.
People have been pushing for IP reform for years saying the present laws aren't fit for purpose as is lolPatent trolls exist, therefore nobody should get intellectual property protections, it's really simple
