Yeah, I get that. But usually when people talk about doing something "for the clicks", they mean that the author is only interested in inflating their site's traffic numbers through deceptive or outlandish headlines & thumbnails; it doesn't really fly when someone's bread-and-butter is built solely on longer-term engagement.
I mean Jim Sterling is obviously playing a character, it's what he does. He's always done that with the jimquisition videos, even back when he was on the Escapist. If you want honest and real Jim you have to watch his impressions videos of big name games. It's the only time he is really straightforward and not trying to do his "Act".
So yeah, he is doing it all "for clicks" but so is every Youtuber on the platform (at least the ones trying to make a living at it). But that's not always a bad thing, because despite the act, his opinions are well thought out and genuine. It isn't like he is being a wild man and throwing out crazy shit just for the sake of it.
