This past year or so we've seen the release of a lot of the "old school" inspired RPGs which were funded in the Kickstarter boom. Those of you who played the games, how did they play and what did you enjoy about them? What improvements would you like to make to the games?
How does Pillars of...
GOTY: The Witcher 3.
A truly incredible game, it wasn't revolutionary in any sense but it completely raised the bar. Atmospheric game with a simple yet deep combat system, incredibly well crafted world, tons of meaningful content and an emotional and personal story with real choice...
The gameplay was outstanding but the Chapter 1 story was overlong, not focused, and fell flat in its finale. Chapter 2 story...well it wasn't there and then the game ends after doing a "Kojima" twist which had been done before in MGS2 and everyone had guessed since the first trailers of the game...
The first game is fairly easy to play since it's so arcadey.
The second game is an evolution of the first but it is still fairly easy to play. It adds manual aiming in which makes some things easier but adds a higher level of challenge in some areas.
The third game completely changes...
Yeah it's sort of trial and error when you're playing it - first time I did it it took forever to figure out what to do. It's a genuinely good boss fight, I just wish there'd been round 2 or 3 later in the game. The Bane boss fights more than make up for it though.
Out of my 5 favourite boss...
The Deathstroke boss fight is actually fairly interactive and plays a bit like a combat puzzle as opposed to a QTE. Even so, there's a lot of other great boss fights in the game - Bane, stealth Bane, Firefly and Deathstroke are all highlights.
Yes - Origins had better boss battles, better (more focused) story, better side quests, better gameplay, and less technical problems. It's slightly less "clever" than Knight, but overall I think it's the best Arkham game and tells an amazing story.
I loved Man of Steel. Maybe I'm the only one. I've seen all the Marvel films too but the only ones I'd rave about are the two Captain Americas and the first Avengers film. But I really really liked Man of Steel. Most of the Marvel films are average to mediocre to bad for me. Just generic action...
I think the Superman army / Sons of the Batman bit is only going to be a "what could happen" section but its visually interesting so might as well put it in the trailer. There's a Robin costume in the trailer too (burned up and gratified on) so this definitely is an established Batman.
Forgot that The Escapist is MCU fan boy central. Everywhere else is going crazy for this and I think it looks awesome - like a DC comic book brought to life. That shot of Batman dodging the laser with a grappling hook was perfection.
I think it looks pretty good. Visually it's far more...
Wow, people will bring the entitled argument up anywhere now.
I'm entitled to a product that works. Usually in customer service, to win back a customers trust and satisfy them, vouchers, discount, free products should be offered. Given the scale of Rocksteady's fuck up with Arkham Knight, if...
