In my opinion the franchise has to be reinvented and adjusted to the current audience to be successful. If it doesn't it will have the same problems as John Carter: only fans will care and the movie will flop big times!

In the coming weeks more and more members of the so called "gaming press" will come to the same conclusion because they will realise how wrong their reaction about the "Retakers" was. But it doesn't change the fact that they have discredited the people who had serious concerns about the ending...

Actually we do not know for sure what they have orginaly planned to do. We often don't know if there is a Director's Cut version or not. It is often released by the publisher/studio because of the success, the fanbase and most importantly for monetization.

You are right but sometimes a directors cut ( http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/90132 ) changes the whole context of a movie and in the case of ME3 fans feel like they have got the "theatrical" version where some things are missing and don't make sense.

Then Bob should realise that the same thing happened to comics, his favourite "artform" and by this logic neither movies (director cuts), comics (reboots) and games can be considered art. Isn't he one of the biggest crybabies complaining about Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Transformers...

Hahahaha as I said before they will sell the new yellow ending as DLC and the fans will run like a hoard of husks to their next Gamestop and buy it! And for a season pass we can get the purple and the orange ending. And next year we can buy the gold and/or silver editions... and... and...

I like that people are reacting and that they demand a proper ending. How often does a TV series end on a similar note? Very often and it is not because it is out of "art" it's because of money. Games, film, comics, books, fashion, and architecture might all be artforms but seriously who cares...

The older I get the more I realize that platform agnosticism is the only way to go if you want to enjoy every aspect of gaming. Also we should be fanboys of games and not of platforms.
