First Impression of Red Dead Redemption- Buy or Pass on it?

OP: Perhaps you could explain why you aren't interested in Red Dead? I really like westerns, so I've been looking forward to the game.

    Poll: Company of Heroes

I play it all the time and have been since it was released way back in 2006. The multiplayer is fantastic. The emphasis on cover and flanking makes each match play differently from the last. Relic's choice to provide many soft counters to units rather than the standard rock-paper-scissors...

OOH, I almost forgot. I love this woman. Unfortunately, she seems to be already married.

    Unexpectedly Hot Game Characters

I liked Ashley a lot once I completed her story arc. The strong will was enticing, but her ability to change her personal perspective once given the opportunity to do so made her great. I think a lot of people talked to her for the first conversation or two and missed that last bit on the...

Poll: How old were you when you started gaming?

At the age of 4 (1989), I got my first computer, the Tandy 1000HX . It had (IIRC) MSDOS 3.xx, 1 3.5'' floppy drive, no hard disk, 640k of RAM, and EGA graphics. I played a lot of King's Quest, Carmen Sandiego, Reader Rabbit, Midnight Rescue, and Quest for Glory. I think I got the NES around...

    Girlfriends, Gaming and You.

Bare minimum for me is someone who doesn't have a problem with gaming. It'd be nice to meet a girl who was a gamer as well, beyond casual games, but haven't met one like that yet.

The most under appreciated game (in your own opinion)

I loved Republic Commando until halfway through the game: on Kashyyk, you look up at the looming Star Destroyer, Yoda tells you to destroy it, and then the game ends. Talk about coitus interruptus.

The most under appreciated game (in your own opinion)

Own: Beyond Good & Evil - only played through the first level (the mine I think) and got further in the hub world Vampires The Masquerade Bloodlines - fan-fucking-tastic, almost done with it Psychonauts - picked it up for $6, but just haven't installed it yet Eternal Darkness - played it...

Pirates, and how the US dealt with them.

The proper solution to support the new government in Somalia so that the country stabilizes and unemployment goes down, thereby reducing the incentives for Somalis to become pirates.

Who would you hate to see as a Zombie?

Shaq. How would I be able to remove the head or destroy the brains if I couldn't reach high enough?

    Zero Punctuation: Resident Evil 5

Republic Commando was great... except it was made by LucasArts, which means that it has to be flawed in some fatal way. Since every element of the gameplay and story was superb, the management at LucasArts decided it should shove the game out the door before the dev team could finish the second...

    Who remembers Myst?

Dude, in 1995, we were still on AOL 1.0; I'm pretty sure GameFAQs was long off. I suppose I could have found a bbs or an AOL chat room back then that had people talking about it, but it was too much of a frontier for me to figure out at that age.

    Who remembers Myst?

I spent a lot of time back when I was 9 or 10 playing the first Myst. I was able to get through most of it (Channelwood, Stoneship, and Mechanical Ages)with occasional hints from people who were older than me. The puzzle that caused me to put the game down was the musical puzzle to get into...
