I'm sure there's a juvie center that has a vacancy spot.

But it's an interesting punishment, and personally if my console was in jeopardy I'd straighten the hell up.

You wanna teach the damn kid a lesson? Kick his ass! It may be illegal now adays, but that doesn't mean you have to leave bruises.

I thought they were going to force him to play the Wii while on bail, to make him regret what he's done.

taking his wii won't do shit, a 12 year old like this probably doesn't even like his wii. his parents missed something and thought that bowling could calm his rage. this only buys him time to plan his next attack because with his wii gone, his parents will probably think that will set him straight and let him loose on the streets. now that they've taken something from him, he has a "reason" to attack people so his parents won't look into it. a psychopath doesn't long for a wii, he longs for blood, and because he wasn't sent to jail, things could get really bad.

What should they do? Send him to jail?

yes, they should, unless we want another murderer out on the streets

You don't think that SENDING HIM TO A FUCKING JAIL would, who know. Make things worse?

Because, life ain't that easy in prison and that sorta stuff?

why are they rewarding some psycho kid by relieving him of such a burden? should just shoot him in the kneecaps.

Just lock him up. Seriously. Throw him in a holding cell for a few days or something. Or intensive counseling, monitor him. And what are the parents doing? Why did they even buy him a Wii? And although I applaud the judge for trying to work his way around the system to punish him, I don't think it's gonna work, neither does the lawyer or the Crown Attorney.

Serves the twat right.

People really need to give kids harsher punishments - it didn't help when smacking was banned.
That, coupled with your avatar, is quite terrifying, but oh, so right.

I wonder if he finds his Wii more important than his freedom. And, they should have taken his life saving as well.

I suppose it will help give him a greater sense of loss, rather than money paid by his parents.

Though personally, as a parent I would not have paid any bail and have him held accountable.

Not punishing children is abuse in my opinion.
