Oh no! A 12 year old child will see nudity! (Despite all the other times he saw it, starting in elementary school and even before that in the shower)

Overprotecting your kids is damaging them.
Well, she ordered and payed for EGM, and didn't get what she payed for.

I think that's the issue here, not her being overprotective.

There is nothing in a Maxim magazine that he couldn't find on the net. Besides Maxim does have some good things in them (I learned how to fix and replace broken shower tiles and repair a garbage disposal), the jokes are better then Playboys that's for sure. Honestly Maxim is no more lude or tasteless then Cosmopolitan.

HeheHAHA!
Sounds like a good trade to me!
Really, seriously, he is going into middle school soon, and he is going to learn everything and some more there, if not from sex ed/health classes then from other kids. This mom is kidding herself if she thinks she can protect him. Didn't work on me.
I would like a subscription to Game Informer, which will be changed to Penthouse/Playboy. :)
heh nice i got game informer on my birthday saved me 10$ on ussed games but instead of GI id like the above mentioned

If he has the internet, he's seen worse. On purpose. Multiple times.
Epic win.

This is one of the ultra-rare occasions a parent has legitimate reason to complain. I mean, this is actually illegal. She very clearly cancelled her subscription and they still kept sending those issues. Unsolicited post is not legal anyplace in the world.

Honestly, what the nelly is the problem here?
Oh, right, overprotective whiny-ass parents who can't shut the fuck up and let their kids have their fun.
I'd say this was a great idea anyway.
Think about it, gamers are mostly nerds, and nerds can't get girls, so they wank off, so this fills in as visual aid.
And Maxim occasionally has funny stuff, like Kevin Bacon.
YES! I got the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon!
WHOO!

This is why the internet was invented. To make funny things like this happen lol. I don't know why the kid didnt just keep the mag and such. Maxim may have just introduced him to porn lol that or get him onto /s/ part of 4chan XD

That was a spectacularly awful idea. EGM had a broad-based audience that included young people, heterosexual women, gay men, and (GASP, SHOCK) straight men/gay women who don't like Maxim.

Glad someone's calling them on it.

Its Maxim...Not exactly Playboy! Wait just one second...'Antichrist Superstar'...Why are they talking about Marilyn Manson in Maxim? Anyway, back to the scandal and outrage. Why replace a magazine read by looooooads of small boys with a side-boob paradise such as Maxim? Why not just replace it with,oh I dont know,Another gaming magazine, perhaps?!

No, 12 is the age in which you shelter them from anything and everything and make sure they'll never figure out what exactly goes where when he gets a girlfriend.
Pah, such nonsense, scar them while their young, it shall toughen them up.
