Does Erin have wrist tattoos a la Jack from Bioshock, or am I seeing that wrong?

I feel compelled to ask just where these angry NGE fans are, because in the comments section of the strips based around it, the vast majority of comments are from people who dislike it and also assume that you do. They then proceed to post about how correct you are in saying it is a bad series.

Meanwhile the most I see from NGE fans are comments about beating a dead horse/missing the point. I have never noticed any of them get particularly angry about it. Granted, in regards to "missing the point", they are doing so ironically by not getting that it is satire, but I honestly cannot recall seeing anybody give the reaction you frequently mention.

Twitter/Facebook, maybe?

Mmmmm, love me some KLK.

Better than Eva anyway ;)
NGE would have been a whole different series if they had Mako in there.

... I'd really like to see that happen now.

I'm just kinda annoyed how many times NGE has been used as a theme in these strips. Seriously, its a comic about video games and you've made Evangelion the topic of the strip more times than literally any game (including Skyrim ffs!!) :p

I've never been into Evangelion so I don't really care about Evangelion 3.0 or whatever. However I do notice that they're starting to milk it like a few other popular anime/manga series.

Making fun of Eva? Must be Tuesday.

(I really do need to get around to watching the new releases. I haven't watched anything other than the original series)

I'm pretty certain that she does indeed have wrist tattoos, and they do indeed appear to be little chains just like Jack's...at least that's what they look like to me.

OT: Always fun when you bust out an Eva-based comic. I think the guy in the comic is actually missing the point. Yeah...we all know that Eva's about angst and depression and angsty depression and depressing angst and creepy fetishes about a cloned girl getting chopped into bits. That's kinda why the haters don't like it in the first place. Saying that it's like watching a porno and getting upset when the repair guy doesn't fix the cable isn't an apt analogy. A better one would be to say that it's like watching a porno and getting upset that it's nothing but sex, just as one can watch Eva and get upset that it's nothing but angst and crying.

Edit: To clarify, "getting mad at what Evangelion is" is kinda the point of not liking the show and making fun of Shinji crying. And that could very well be the point of this comic and I'm just being a jackass. :p

Yeah, just fast forward through giant robot fights. Or watch Alien Nine. Its super short so you don't have to deal with angst for 26 episodes!! Aiyiyi!

I'm considering watching the show just so I can understand what all these comics are about.

Oh would that be the comic I am never ever ever going anywhere near ever again?

Yeah, that one.

Are you marginalising my desire to have a logical story and conclusion in my porn?
Stories have to make sense, even if it is porn (or a webcomic).

Wasn't Evangelion always a middle finger to the typical anime fans? From the main character who suffered from depression and didn't simply get over it as viewers wanted him to. The depressing scene in the hospital with Rei where she calls him on what a creep he was. To how they had Shinji fall for a guy just to tick off homophobes.

It's been over ten years since I watched it last, so I can't remember clearly.

:D Yep. She has "The Great Chain" on one wrist, and the tri-force on the other.

How are you just seeing this now? They show it off every chance they get. ;p

OT: EVA ANGER! xD

Or you could always watch RahXephon, which is like Eva but with likeable characters... though in places it's even weirder... also the Robo-Fights aren't as awesome in RahXephon... but its character relationships are somewhat less creepy.

On another note though, what is it with Giant Robot Show Auteurs and Depression... I mean Two of the Three Giant Robot Show Runners that I can think of had depression and had it seriously influence their work... Anno with his daddy issues and Tomino killing pretty much everyone in his shows... though I guess Kowamori does have his whole new age woo obsession...

This is creating giant robot anime is a psychological rabbit hole to be sure...

Cake? I... just... cake?
Why...?

On the topic of Evangelion, it really is too easy to make fun of. I do plan on watching Rebuild sometime, but I'm expecting to be as dissapointed as I was in the series.

Might I suggest watching Martian Successor Nadesico then. Much less depression.
Takes a bit of getting used to. It's a comedy, or parody. A parody of clichés.
Bit hard to explain. It takes a cliché, overdoes it, turns it even more absurd.
Dresses it all up in 70's style "badly written" cliché giant robot anime and appears to keep a straight face.

Not to everyone's taste I guess, but I really enjoyed it and I'm sure plenty of others will.

Last time you did this I checked the comments section. There was only one person who was actually angry, and IIRC it wasn't really about the comic itself. The number of people who wonder why the hell you keep doing this outnumber the imaginary people you think get mad at your comic. Get over yourself.

So... Erin burning down her workplace TWICE was just a funny little side-thing?

I'm even more concerned than I was before! D:
