No sane person grabs a sledge hammer and takes it to someones face because they took your keyboard away, The kid was either already mentally unstable or there was some serious fucked up shit happening in that house anyway that we don't know about that made the kid kill him.

That psycho kid should get the chair, or whatever the death sentence in Russia, he obviously has no remorse for what he's done.

Personally I think he should be hit with a sledgehammer to death. Hopefully the media wont blame this on videogames as the only cause of this, course they probably will.

Some more detail would be nice. He didn't sleep for a week? That would make most people psychotic right there. Why did the kid kill the father rather than just steal the keyboard back? Sounds like there are some major pieces missing in this story.
going without sleep that long has actually been shown to cause some serious brain damage too

This reminds me of an Onion joke.

It went something like "Russia: Where Russians are sent to die."

It was in the Onion atlas.

It's really gonna suck when he realizes they don't have video games in prison.

But a sledgehammer?! Super Mario is going to get fried in the media for this one :(

Wow this is amazing. And the picture is of my keyboard haha... And I agree that a western news company is going to grab it and turn it into a violent videogame thing. I would of liked to know what game he was playing.

Someone clearly has mental issues..especially if they can smash their own father's head in twice with a sledgehammer and then go back to what they were doing as if nothing had happened.

Oh, and before Fox and CNN get ahold of this i will say "it wasn't the games fault..the child is clearly mentally unstable and the parents did not raise him correctly" but in the end this will probably be ignored because the media only likes to hear what can potentially make them seem right.

How???? How would you be able to go back to the computer like nothing happened?
If there were no signs of this being mental health, how could you do that to your own father and then just go back to the computer? I say the kid just seriously took it WAY too far and now should pay the ultimate price for killing someone who helped house him, take care of him and raised him to that age!

So he's probably going to spend most of his life in prison and never play video games again, he will probably end up hanging himself if the nutjob is that emotionally unbalanced. Of course he probably would have gotten the keyboard back in a day or two but instead decided murder was a better option. I'm sure video games will be blamed for this not the fact the dude is a mental deranged lunatic probably from birth... Really if he didn't get into video games he probably would have murdered someone else for looking at him funny at some point in the future, or a girlfriend for breaking up with him.

Overall i'm glad for my own saftey that he is 14 otherwise it would be put down to "childhood innocence" and that "he didn't realise what he was doing" then would be in deep metaphorical doo-doo.

HOLD ON A Minute...

This is a sledgehammer

Now, imagine yourself at 14.

Could you sneak into your dad's bedroom, swing that thing at him, recover and swing again?

Seriously, try and lift one sometime. They are incredibly heavy. If a fourteen year old can easily lift and swing one, then he's in the top echelon of teenage strength.

Now, we'll assume his mother is in the same bed as his dad...at which point she handed over his keyboard and he went back?

And his mother rang her RELATIVES...presumably covered in the gore from the accident, instead of the police?

Nah. There's some serious pieces missing here.

We definitely don't have all the information here. Game addiction is real, true; but the there have to be other factors. The parents had to have been parenting this kid wrong in some ways, like the fact they let him play for a day straight. Second, there could be abuse in this child's life, which would lead him to play so much. I've heard of people doing a lot of things to hide from abuse, from drugs and alcohol to just running the f*ck away, and video games could definitely provide a safe zone for this kid. Not that I think that this kid isn't to blame either, it's just that kids don't kill their parents when pure recreation is taken away from him. Gaming was clearly more to him than that, and his parents shouldn't have let that happen.
