Dutch Porn Star Awkwardly Uninvited From Modern Warfare 3 Launch Party

A Dutch actress was quickly and awkwardly uninvited from an official Modern Warfare 3 launch party in Amsterdam after Activision discovered exactly what kind of films she stars in.

Are you familiar with the work of actress Kim Holland? She's made numerous appearances on television and stars in several films, none of which I can actually name here because I don't want to get fired. Suffice it to say that she's best known for her roles in a very popular genre that you're not very likely to see down at the local Cineplex.

Activision apparently wasn't entirely clear on who she was when they invited her to an official Modern Warfare 3 [http://www.amazon.com/Call-Duty-Modern-Warfare-Xbox-360/dp/B00503E8S2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320251275&sr=8-1] VIP party in Amsterdam later this month. She got the invite not only because she's a recognizable actress but also because she's an actual gamer and a big fan of the Modern Warfare series. But a few days after she got the invitation, an un-invitation arrived.

"The American publisher of Modern Warfare 3 has indicated that they prefer no representatives of the adult entertainment industry at the party," the message sent to Holland, apparently from Dutch television show and party host Gamekings [and obviously Google translated] says. "And so there must be some women in Britain and the Netherlands are canceled. I know, a little hypocritical, but the U.S. [is] the U.S. and I'm just the messenger."

Holland expressed disappointment with the decision, not just because it means she won't get the new Xbox 360 and free copy of Modern Warfare 3 that's being given to all attendees, but because of what she sees as blatant hypocrisy on the part of Activision. It's okay to make a videogame that has players killing hundreds of people, she complained, but associating with someone from the adult film industry is "really unacceptable."

"Murder is neat," she wrote, but "the love-makers [are] dirty."

well at least she was mature about it, and she does have a point.

shame on activision for not doing the slightest bit of research it seems...a "let me google that for you" just doesn't bring this justice.

This is highly insensitive by Activision. I am shocked and appaled. To make things right, I would like to invite Kim Holland to a party of my own, as compensation... :)

What a clever and concise quote on her part.

I hasten to add however that being paid to have sex with an entire soccer team while some of them wear monkey masks hardly strikes me as "love" making.

Would I have uninvited her though? Nope. Frankly if she was a fan before I'd want to keep her as a fan still.

"Oh shit, looks like we've been unprofessional! Let's make up for it by being rude too!"

Dicking somebody else around because you didn't do your research makes working in the porn industry look classy. They should've let the invitation stand.

Y'know what. I actually think that's really unfair. So she's a porn star, it's not illegal, and it's worth remembering that behind that she's also a person. Shame on Activision for not doing their research, and then double shame for unceremoniously dumping her for no reason other than she's a porn star. Who are they worried about upsetting? The sort of prudes who will think less of you if you even so much as associate with someone who engages in something they personally disapprove of? Not only can people like that go fuck themselves, but face it Activision, they're gonna whine about you no matter what you do. They're certainly not going to buy your game, so why should you care what they think?

"Love-makers"?

Is that what we're calling them now?
I think that's a cleaned up Google translation more than what she actually said.

Giggity giggity.

Would they also ban Traci Lords? Sylvester Stallone? Arnold Schwarzenegger? Marina Sirtis?

Funny how Teri Hatcher is still invited:

Yep, I knew keeping this would come in handy. To anyone from any country that's not America that wants to act like this kind of prude behavior is only exhibited by Americans:

Kindly remember that it's not only Americans, and keep your bigotry and ignorance to yourselves for once. ;)

"Oh no, we might get bad publicity at home if we let this porn star attend our event!"

Except that were it not for the uninvitation, no-one outside the Netherlands would even have known she was invited in the first place. I sometimes wonder if Activision actually has a PR department, or just an aquarium full of manatees.

Didn't Blizzard ban a porn star when they found out her WoW characters name? I don't get why they are seen as such bad people.

Modern Pornfare 3

This level features a controversal airport level, where our heroine has sex with unarmed civilians, press 1 to skip or 2 to play.

This is a joke, if I was at that party she would be the only person there that I'd be interested in talking to.

I love how everyone there was all like "yeah! we all sit around on our ass and shoot fake people on a screen, woo!" then she shows up and its like "wait, you've had sex? multiple times? BLASPHEMER, GET OUT!!"
