Really now? And that proves what, exactly? The internet is full of tools? NO WAY! I NEVER KNEW THAT. I'm sure the majority of ''bad experiences'' were cyber-bullying, and a good few of them partook in cyber-bullying at some stage.

Gotta say, I wasn't seriously exposed to the Internet until I was about 13. No, really. Even then I didn't play online multiplayer games for a while. Of course, it's changed quite a bit since then, but I missed all the negativity that comes with being a kid on the Internet, so I guess I might have been unusual in that regard. As such, I have no idea how these kids get "cyber-bullied" or talked to by pedophiles. How do they even get into those situations?

Did they ask how many of them had had roughly the equivalent positive experience, like someone taking them under their wing, or showing them the ropes, maybe asking the room, the team, or whoever else was around to show a little consideration? I know, I know, that wouldn't be newsworthy.

If you count some idiot following you around trying to get a rise out of you "cyber bullying" then, I'm in the 60% though I think shit like that is just funny.

They don't have the balls to face me in real life so they sit behind the safety of a computer screen.

Grow some balls you fucking pussy.

They can go cry a river. Or grow up and give others a "bad online experience".

Anything can be a bad experience if it brings attention.

The internet can be a pretty weird place for an adult, so imagine what it's like if you're a kid.
So? Online is not the only place kids can get a bad experience. Life is not all milk and honey you know. Online is the least of their problems. At least they are physically safe online.
Seconded. The world is a bad place, you need to learn to just move on. I just recently started playing multiplayer of the PSN(Gasp! Semi-social contact!), and I've been having a blast kicking ass and getting mine kicked, and the very first match I was in, I got a headshot on someone and I heart this kid over a mic cussing me out. I suppose that could be considered a bad experience for someone, but in the end it's absolutely harmless. Myself, I found it amusing. To each his own.

I'm sure most of that comes from my tinyurl links to /b/, /d/, /e/ and /y/ ^_^

I do apologise to all the innocent children out there!

I wonder what they mean by 'Bad experience'. I've received death threats after beating someone using a really cheap strategy in a game; would that count as a bad experience? If it is just a single event, would I also belong in those 60%?
Maybe they should also try judging, say, highschool to those standards. I'm pretty sure at least 60% of the people who have gone to highschool have had a 'Bad experience at some point.

I don't know how anyone avoids been cyber bullied. There's so many of those anons who don't have the guts to say it to someone's face, they'll have to say it over a computer.
8 Years old is too young for a child to be on the Internet, especially without parental guidance.
Ugh, I remember when some 25 year old used to always flirt with me when I was 13 and first got MSN. Freeeeeeak.

A little bullying builds character; and a lot of bullying makes them turn off their damn mic, that's what I always say.

Only thing i have ever needed to shut the kids up is
"Shut up or hit Puberty your choice"
Then they either
A) Go off ranting about how much older they are, how drunk they are, and how much sex they had on their girlfriend until they get kicked
B) they Shut up
C) they leave the server
D)they tell their mommy on me(have you ever been in a TF2 match and some kids mom gets on the mic and attempts to dominate you to "AVENGE HER SON!") or start attempting to send me on a guilt trip over the mic while everyone including me cannot stop laughing.

60% admitted to it, while the 40% dared not admit that they enjoyed the pop ups

There is almost always the option to block messages from people. If someone is posting you crap on facebook for example, simply delete them.

And a 100% of adults have a bad online experience because of kids.

Nah, I'm just kidding.

I'd reckon this is probably because of "smack talk" and bullying. Not to mention that children are quite.. Unpopular in the online world. Most due to their attitude and voices, obviously.

The God forsaken high pitched whiny voices make them stop, PLEASE MAKE THEM STOP!
