Deus Ex Has Its First Human Revolution With Yahtzee

Square Enix will be showing off Deus Ex: Human Revolution in public for the first time at Yahtzee's Mana Bar.

When it was announced that Deus Ex: Human Revolution [http://www.amazon.com/Duke-Nukem-Forever-Pc/dp/B002I0JAJ2/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1287764250&sr=1-1] to the Mana Bar for the game's world first public appearance, I think I'm going to have to move.

Choosing your plan of action through the various situations of Deus Ex's futuristic world [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/trailers/2014-Deus-Ex-Human-Revolution] could only become more fun by doing it with friends and getting a little tipsy (if you're of age) at the same time. If you're lucky enough to live in Australia, Square Enix will be allowing this to happen with the game on display at the Mana Bar this Saturday, October 23.

Whether the game will be playable or not isn't clear, but Square Enix did announce that it'll be holding a demonstration of Human Revolution starting at 7pm, followed by an exclusive video from the developers. There will also be various Deus Ex competitions, with prizes given away throughout the day.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is the third Deus Ex title, but it takes place 25 years before the first. Deus Ex [http://www.amazon.com/Deus-Ex-Pc/dp/B00003OPES/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1287765048&sr=8-4], originally designed by Warren Spector and released in 2000, became known for its RPG-like gameplay implemented within a first-person shooter that gave players the freedom of choice in many situations. One could run-and-gun, sneak through vents and strategically take out enemies, or hack into enemy robots to cause chaos.

Square Enix has Deus Ex under its control after actual gameplay [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/91144-Squeenix-to-Take-Over-Eidos-Tomorrow] yet. Maybe some helpful Australians can fill the rest of us in on what Square Enix shows off this weekend, if they don't get too drunk to remember the demonstration.

I have confidence in the game to turn out well. I want to see the stealth, but stealth doesn't look as good in trailers.

Looks like I need to visit Australia soon.

I gotta say, the fact that the game devs and teams are bringing their demos to a smaller venue and, if you think about it, to the gamers almost, it's nice to see. I doubt Activision or EA will fly to Australia, when EA's taking 10 extra from us and Activision is busy waiting for us to let our guard down so they can eat our children, but to see venues such as a game bar get exclusive demos says a lot.

Hopefully we'll get our own Mana bars around the world to go to, I know how I'd spend my 21st birthday, drinking and playing guitar hero, occasionally whipping out my laptop for a little escapist conversation before some shots.

Here's a decent chunck of pre-alpha gameplay:

Can't wait for this at all.

What he said, it appears he is quite the celebrity.

Also i'm curious how much candid criticism he will give them. If they received it before releasing the game it might be of some use.

What's so important in Yahtzee´s bar that's becoming so popular to show off new games lately? It's not as it's Australian's gaming expo or something... it's just a bar for god's sake!

Also, I can't wait to see some actual gameplay footage of this game!

You know those guys whose labors he slags of on a weekly basis? Yeah, they all watch his show religiously. From the horse's mouth.

I always had a feeling that that place would eventually morph into a sort of hot spot for all things game-related. This is good news, not only because I was right, but because it's good to know that the average Joe can still do well by himself if he applies some cleverness and elbow grease in the right spots. Kudos, you British-cum-Aussie vitriol pump.

Not that I can profess to truly know Yahtzee's personality, but based on what I've seen, the more closely they hug him (keep your friends close, your enemies closer) the more he's liable to lash out against them.
So it will be interesting indeed to see the reviews he lavishes on the games after they're previewed at his locale.

Will he hug back, or will he knee them in the nads when they get into range?

Wait, a game by Square is having Yahtzee host it? I know he liked Deus Ex, but still, I feel there's a bit of irony here.

It seems ike the Mana Bar is well on its way to becoming a new annual game show.
Good for Yahtzee and Pals.

*Leans back with a massive grin* Now you all know how it feels to be an Australian only getting to read about all the gaming expos in the states.
