A concern about befriending

I will add anyone who actually talks with me. Failing on 2 counts so far, but at least 1 person keeps in contact every now and again. I don't see the point of adding strangers. If you wanna talk, sure all for it. Else, why am I bothering? Does it actually make a difference?

I usually am befriended by others. Usually after a brief but often memorable exchange in a thread. I befriend them back for two reasons:
1. Politeness
2. I actually want to be associated with the people that want to befriend me, because they generally are pretty cool.

My friends list is not so much a list of friends, as it is a business card: I am friends with these dudes, so that makes me as awesome as them. It's like a social resume. :D

I only add people who add me.

If I added you first, you can bet you impressed me a lot.

I don't talk to many people, though.

I'm not sure how many friends I have but it's very, very few. And only one did I ask for, which so happens to be the one I might go out of my way to see what he's posted lately. None of my friends have I ever talked to in messages more than once. I've probably talked to SharPhoe or Max more than all the people in my friends list put together.

With that said, I'm happy with my friends.

I'll usually only send out a friend invite if I feel there's been a good bit of back and forth. If they shoot me an invite, then I'll usually at least look up some of their posts before befriending them, if I'm not familiar with them, see if I like what they have to say. If not, I'll unfriend myself from them. I'll chatter with a few of them for a bit, every now and again, and it's usually just about shenaniganns and what not.

I think the only people I've added are people I've ever played a few games with, talked with on the irc (back when I used to go on it) or if I know them personally.
When someone else befriends me though, I will usually befriend them back, unless they have annoyed me at some point or are just obviously badgehunting (have more fiends than posts).

Thinking about it, there are a few people I have been meaning to send friend requests to, I should get on that.

The only time I talk to the people I've befriended here is when I quote their posts. I only have about four friends. I've only added Max myself, the other three added me first. I'm not particularly keen on socializing in such a way.

I usually only add people I actually talk to, at least I did at first, now I don't really talk to most of them.

I think your reading too much into it. Just relax your crack, and acept the damn friend request! They're not going to come around and borrow your DVDs!

I added a few people from the Team Fortress 2 group here, but I mainly just talk to them in the group and not private messages.

I think the only person I added from this site that isn't in the TF2 group is Fan Man Spoon.

Everyone else added me or is in the TF2 group.

I think you are looking too much into it. Relax your crack and accept the friend request. They're not going to come to your house and borrow your DVDs!

EDIT: Ok it didn't turn up before! Dammit I ninja'd myself!

I have no friends here either, Yay! However, I don't really post that often, so I'm not surprised.

I only have about 11 friends on the escapist, most of which added me first. On Xbox Live however, I only have roughly 40 friends out of a possible 100 and out of that 40 about 20 I know in real life, another 10 are my regulars to play and chat with, and that final 10, for whatever reason hold some kind of special memory, we used to talk a lot but drifted overtime and new games, yet neither can bring themselves to remove the other.

If I've talked to someone before I don't mind being befriended.
I myself, have only added maybe 5 people.

I might not talk to all of them regularly, but when I do it's with a fondness reserved for friends. ^^
