Activision really needs to be taken down. I really don't care what happens to all their franchises at this point. Not that I did much in the first place.
EA/Activision/Blizzard/Ubisoft all need to get ground down to nothing at this point. The game industry got greedy and ran for the hills with it, and now maybe they need to be made an example of. I have no sympathy for em at this point, fuck em

Your sympathy is not relevant; there are no grounds for the state to ‘grind them down’. The actions Activision-Blizzard are being sued against are fucking heinous make no mistake and it will be a bitter, bitter pill if no one goes to jail over them. However to totally dismantle a company like this would mean you’d need to find a top to bottom concerted effort to engage in serious criminal concerns like human trafficking, drug importation or the production and distribution of illicit pornography. So yeah, lacking that you’re not getting your pound of flesh, and if there was a pound to be had then you wouldn’t be getting it anyway.

On the upshot, their reputation damage might be so severe that they end up getting closed down or sold off as a fire sale. Which would if nothing else it would be poetic. Be a shame to put all the not-criminals there out of a job though.

What needs to happen and what the state has the authority to do are two separate things

In your own words "EA/Activision/Blizzard/Ubisoft all need to get ground down to nothing at this point". I'm pointing out that outside a massive criminal concern being found operating and fascilitated at all levels within the company, you're not going to get that. You are not Captain America and EA/Activision/Blizzard/Ubisoft are not Hydra within SHIELD. As much utter dickery and fuckery exists within these organisations there's no legal ground for any state sanctioned entity to dismantle them.

Aye, fair enough, it's not like I'm actually expecting that to happen either. Was just putting my personal feelings on the matter out there.

You are not Captain America and EA/Activision/Blizzard/Ubisoft are not Hydra within SHIELD.
No shit

Oh man, to be a fly on the wall with a slab and a bucket of fried chicken to watch THAT day in court. Oh, we mortals could dream of such things.
Not big enough like OJ Simpson and Derek Chauvin to be a televised trial

As part of the settlement, Activision Blizzard will create an $18 million fund to compensate employees who claim damages.
Lmao, that's just gonna paint a target on said employee's back

Hopefully the other lawsuits actually manage something

This lawsuit was the weakest of all the things brought against Blizzard. The claims of inequal hiring and promotion were all low detail and lacking evidence. Most of them could be summed up as, "I wanted to get promoted to this position but didn't but a guy got it."

I'd argue the other lawsuits are stronger now that this one is out of the picture.
