I guess I have to be the one to point it out.

They think you're gay

Frank and whatever see you reading and not being social and they stereo-typed you. Saying "I have high standards" to them is something they don't belive. They think you have NO intrest in ANY woman because think you are gay

I don't think there's anything wrong with high standards in terms of the sort of personality you're looking for but it seems like you're doing something wrong if you aren't talking to girls. How are you going to know what they're really like if you haven't talked? Speaking personally I doubt anyone would get anything other than a really sketchy idea of what I was like without talking to me.

Tell me, why is chasing girls such a big fucking thing in our culture anyway? .
Probably because the drive to find a mate is a pretty big biological imparitive?
Screw biological imperatives. It just disappoints me that society has not yet overruled this like it has other barbaric instincts.
Probably because it essential to the survivall of the species, thats why.

Also, pimp - "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence." Just because I don't talk to girls doesn't mean I'm not interested.

Dude you spelt opinionated, as opinanated. Which is incorrect.

That aside, I don't think having high standards is insulting to those around you, unless you say that they have the wrong standards in which case it can be an insult.
After that whole thread of him telling you things to discuss then you correct his spelling made me laugh:)

I don't think it's insulting lowerng your standards.

Bit too offtopic, so I'll make my last comment here. There were a lot of instincts that were essential to the species before. We overrode them, partially if not wholly. We don't seem to have evolved socially at all in terms of lust. I really can't wait until genetic engineering becomes the norm...

There is a difference between having high standards and just being delusional. I'm not saying you are the latter because I don't know you, so I can't say. However, I have a friend who has ridiculously high standards and if you looked at his pathetic ass you would just laugh at his own self deception. He will look for things wrong with women, without even knowing them, and list them off like they are some malfunctioned piece of equipment. I know he's just making excuses and catering to his delusions so he can sleep at night. He walks around with an undeserved sense of superiority when in fact he's a pathetic, overweight, acne infected, socially awkward asshole who has never even kissed a girl.... and he's 25. I'm not saying you are like him, just keep that image in your mind.

More off topic but that'd be awesome. I'd give myself a tail, huge canines, pointed ears and claws. Maybe wings if they weren't inefficient and actually worked.
I was thinking more along the lines of fixing all those problems evolution doesn't care about because their onset is after you've had a chance to reproduce, removing all genetic disorders, and cancelling those impulses humanity used to need to survive, but doesn't anymore. Taking control of our own bodies, I guess you'd call it.

Some thoughts on the checklist approach. Going to a girl with a list of things that they must fullfill can be usefull in a way, but take it too far and the whole exercise becomes pointless. Things like "Does she smoke?" "Does she cry all the time?" "Does she hate minority groups?" are fine because they help you avoid negative traits.

Making your list have stuff personal tastes, and trying to find someone with the exact same tastes as yourself is idiotic. First of all it is hopeless and you will never find that exact person, and secondly what is the point? You obviously aren't looking for any mental or emotional stimulation if you don't want to experience new things, so therefore you must be just looking for sex of the appearance of having a girlfriend. The first can be solved by masturbating and the second means that you are a tool.

Removing genetic disorders sounds good. Less down syndrome, mental retardation and all that.
Canceling impulses? Should be up to the individual. On a certain level those impulses are what makes people people and makes humans human. I see no problem with an individual having the ability to remove some of those inhibitions so they can become "greater than human" or something new.
Heh, this pwns the original topic. Yeah, I don't value my "humanity" all that much. I just value some of the things that come with humanity. Yes, I believe that no one should be forced to make the same decision as me and throw away the past, yet. In cases of new babies being born, they are going to be without a choice either way. You can't really avoid that. All you can do is hand the matter over to the parents. But yeah, now I'm done this off-topic thing too.
