All hearts generally look the same haha. It will be a pig/sheep heart anyway as they are very cheap to get at a butcher.

Still, I would call the police anyways. It's unlikely that it's the heart of a human or someone's pet, but it never hurts to be on the safe side. Besides, I think they would understand your concern considering there is a heart lying on the ground.

Out of curiosity though, why do butchers sell cow/sheep/pig hearts? Can you actually make food with them?

Funny, but not a human heart. I'm not a "heart expert" but I do live on a small farm. Now, I'm not saying I'm right, because I am pretty stupid, but that bears quite a resemblance to a pigs heart. Maybe even a cows, I've seen both get butchered and had to clean up the entrails (fucking worst job EVER) and I gotta say that looks pretty close to an animal heart. Too bad you didn't keep it, should have just picked that shit up with your bear hands if you had too. You could have made a plexi-glass box with a freezing unit in it, and boom! Instant conversation piece for your living room.

Looks like a high school dissection heart. There is no pericardium sac and the aorta is removed. It also looks closer to the size of a cow heart.
