men in porn are chosen for their penis and sexual talents, not their physical attraction, because, like we've all been discussing, porn is usually for guys, and guys don't care about a guy's physical attraction, because he's only there to serve as a surrogate person on a subconscious level.

I think of porn like dancing. If you enjoy watching dancing, isn't it better to watch two people dance together? sex is kind of a dance designed for 2 people. Sure, if you had a woman on screen dancing a 2 person dance by herself, it MIGHT be easier to imagine yourself dancing with her. A lot of true things have already been said here.
I think most people have their favorite point of view. I'm not talking about fetishes (like Facial, Anal or something) I'm talking about what kind of pose or bodypart we want to see. Some may want to see a medium shot of the couple with the camera having a high shot angle. Others may want to see details like the couples genitalia and the acutal act of doing it. Others may want to see the face(s). Maybe these directors/cameramen try to cater to all needs leaving some of us displeased with the results as we just like a very specific camera setting. That would make sense since there are some POV Only pornfilms and there are others where the camera has a fixed position. (Mostly Amateur shots because you can save costs and embarassement for the cameraman)

Now you're attributing that view to other people and not the OP.

I wasn't deriding anyone in my first post. I noted the OPs failure to mention the active role of women in sex from the language of his OP. I went on to say that many men (including, perhaps the OP), and later, our culture in general view men as the sole active partners in sex. I further clarified that this is why I believe men are visually more prominent in heterosexual porn.

OP later clarified that he doesn't have this view, but it should be clear where the humor is in people who hold male-centric views of sex complaining about too much focus being paid to men in porn.

You make a claim that the OP has obviously male-centric views on the sole basis that he says "Just watching another bloke having sex" That IS how it is in porn. They make it much too focused on the man. He's not stating his opinions on sex, he's making an observation on porn, and complaining about it being like that. If anything that would make me assume quite the opposite of what you came up with, in fact that he wants to see larger roles from women.

You were picking apart his choice of words and ignoring the intentions behind it.

OT: Anyways, I don't find it annoying to see men in porn, it's more the attitude and type of guys they choose to show. Sadly I haven't seen an example of porn where the guy doesn't have an irritatingly smug look on his face and doesn't remind me of an arrogant douche. That being said, I don't care for women they show in porn either. The type of women I'm attracted to are typically not the sort who'd actually do porn, soo... basically I don't watch porn anyways.

So yes, no problem with the fact that guys are shown, just the type of guys.
