Some very practically reasons I can come up with:

Imagine the Cameraman. (Let's suppose he is hetero Dude Ladies and gays Okay! Just because! Don't even think...)

So, where was I, ah yes the bard was making an ass of himself

and the Cameraman is seeing those two (or more => Gangbang) having "fun" in front of him while he has to hold the camera. Tough luck right?

- So his own boner is preventing him from thinking clearly and he just focus on the wrong actor.

- Due to his enormous expertise in filming couples having sex or gang bangs etc. he turned gay and has some interest in the male character

- He is so frustrated because he can't have sex with the girl while the stupid bloke ontop of her pushes his "ding dong" inside her while moaning like an prehistoric ape-monster, so he thinks "payback time" and punishes the male viewers for it, zooming on the guy instead.
So that's why! ...but then, what does... ooh now I get it, but that means... or maybe not.

But yeah, I wonder what it's like to work as a camera man. On one hand, you get to watch quite a lot up close. But on the other hand, "so close, yet so far", I guess there's no "free samples" when it comes to that job.

the general idea when you watch a guy involved in porn is to put yourself in his place and imagine you're fucking the hot girl. I really hate it when he makes noise or the camera focuses on him, though. That's probably for the girls. They watch porn too, you know.

Answer: I do not (want to see a guy boning a woman). I don't even want to see lesbians (or failing that, women being paid to pretend to be lesbians) using reasonably accurate facsimiles of a phallus on each other.

Essentially I have a very strict "no phallus allowed" policy to my porn consumption. This situation therefore never ever comes up (yay!).

I love how the OP generally typifies sex as something a man does with a woman or "girl" rather than something two people do together.

Perhaps not everyone has your particularly male centric view of sex?
Thank you. You've pretty much summed up my thoughts on the subject.

I'm not a regular user of porn but I guess maybe it's so the watcher can imagine he is the guy boning the woman?
The First post sums it all up quite well.

Usually it's some -reasonably- looking good guy with a decent size - I do believe it's meant to do the ego good to make the mind subliminally think it's them getting laid. I mean hell if you're having to look at porn (not that there's anything wrong with it of course so don't kill me) - then surely it means you're not getting any tonight so it'd be nice to get a minor ego boost to think you're some sexy actor rather than just sitting down and playing with yourself.

I mean hell - if you're thinking like that then really how on earth can ANY purely heterosexual masturbate? In the end it's your hand wrapped around a cock (even if it is your own being fair) I mean hell - if you're about to climax then really you're got the same face as the guy you're looking at.

No offense to you gentlemen... but aren't you just a -little- insecure if every time you see a male face you're going to panic. Look at it this way - if you REALLY are that worried. Do what every other heterosexual male does - look up lesbian porn instead - two women will do your heterosexual minds good I am sure.

I absolutely cannot stand hardcore hetero porn for precisely the reasons you describe. Lesbians / girls only, thank you very much. I can't stand the site of penises, felatio, or men in general. Get out of the way guys.

Mirror Neurons, Empathy. Crap like that. Seeing another dude get laid makes it a lot easier for ourselves to imagine getting laid. Our brains are rather good at catching the emotions and feelings of others. Seeing someone cry makes you sad, seeing someone laugh makes you laugh as well and seeing someone pound a porn actress from behind makes you horny. It's quite simple really, we're not nearly as individual as we like to pretend to be.

I'm married, so my jerking off time is minimum now. However, my wife does enjoy a little more and helps make her frisky! So yeah, I(we) watch some.

Am I the only straight male that doesn't get off on lesbian porn?

Just doesn't do it for me.

How homophobic do you have to be to entertain the concept that a man and a woman having sex is somehow gay?

Seriously tho...

Much of porn is about the fantasy. The question I return is... how do you show a heterosexual fantasy without heterosexual sex? With lesbians!?! That's not the same thing!

The same 'idea' could be said about those guys who watch lesbian porn... does it mean you identify with one of the women and therefore are a transsexual?

OF COURSE NOT THAT IS DUMB

I think the notion is that a lot of men are into watching people having sex rather than a woman with a particularly fleshy dildo.

What I don't understand is why they inevitably cast absolutely hideous men in these situations. Either pretend the men aren't there or do some actual goddamn casting.

Maybe that's just what the guys into? Or maybe it makes it easier for the viewer to imagine himself as the man in the video, having sex with the woman, similar to the idea of a silent protagonist in gaming? It could be they zoom in on the face of the man in order to highlight his emotions during or post coitus ?

Otherwise it's just a stylistic choice of the director.
I really don't know actually, but pornography is as popular as ever, and it's showing no signs of stopping, so obviously someone likes it.

Also that picture you used, really wasn't necessary. You probably could've spoilered it too.

I steal ideas from porn.

It taught me everything I needed to know when I stole my brothers VHS porn videos when I was 10.

It also lied to me. I was determined to get a job as a plumber because they all get laid ... I later found out that wasn't true.

My dreams shattered.

Anyway.....

Yeah, I got some of my best ideas from watching porn and changing them around a bit.

It has served me well over the years.

Also tried a few positions from the Kama Sutra and managed to slip a disk in my back .... some of them are impossible to anyone not fully trained in yoga, or have elastic bones.

First, you aren't 100% heterosexual. All of you.

Also, you're basically putting yourself in the position of the guy. The visual affects how you feel, and when you actually see a dude thrusting his weapon into its sheath, you feel a it a bit, in the same way you can kinda feel it when you see someone get hurt.

Can I just say that this picture sums up everything that I find wrong with porn nowadays?

OT: I don't mind POV porn, but yea, as previously stated, I can't stand when it's all guys face all the time. Or even that odd "dudes butthole/taint" shot.

I don't however like lezzie porn simply because I feel that I'm too honest with myself about it. I can't fathom getting off to it because I know damn well that they would have zero interest in me :p

speeking as a pansexual male and not regulsr consumer of porn, the hell if I know. But it might not really be, according to wikipedia's convienient "lesbianism in erotica" page, more heterosexual men like that stuff. Also, this is just a guess, they are probably pretending they are the guy, the whole point in masterbation is to simulate sex, and porn is to add fantasy to that.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Its called cuckolded or something, there is a fetish about watching your gf or wife or whatever get fucked by another guy and then you fuck her or just jack off or something, anyway, apparently this stimulates something in men that increases sperm production and thus makes for a better orgasm since the guy is trying to out do the guy who went before him.

I don't really get it myself but its one of the older fetishes around.

men in porn are chosen for their penis and sexual talents, not their physical attraction, because, like we've all been discussing, porn is usually for guys, and guys don't care about a guy's physical attraction, because he's only there to serve as a surrogate person on a subconscious level.

I think of porn like dancing. If you enjoy watching dancing, isn't it better to watch two people dance together? sex is kind of a dance designed for 2 people. Sure, if you had a woman on screen dancing a 2 person dance by herself, it MIGHT be easier to imagine yourself dancing with her. But the dance video with 2 people dancing the dance will be a much better video, and you can STILL imagine yourself dancing with her.
