Well, I haven't watched porn for a while, but when I did I didn't really have a problem with guys being in it. Granted it sort of killed it if it focused on them for too long (guy bodies don't do it for me), but I have no problem keeping my attention on the hot, naked, woman during heterosexual scenes. I'm surprised it's so difficult for other people.

I never really watched a lot of professional stuff, but maybe they make the guys hideous so you can think "well if that OGRE can get with Titties McSpermDumpster, maybe I, average looking Joe have a chance!".

Adults only? HA - Let's be honest here! I turned 18 less than a week ago and I could've lead a conversation about this 4 years ago.

Yeah, right...
Two things:

First: You didn't really "lead a conversation about this" topic here right now, you just seem to focus on the two less important words of the title. Did you contribute to this thread? What are you implying?

Second: The last time I checked the title there was a question mark behind it. You know what a question mark means, right? So what was your point again? That you started jerked off years ago when you reach puberity or that your parents let you watch porn even though you weren't techinically allowed to do so? Please indulge me, what has that to do with the topic?

Back on topic:
A lot of true things have already been said here.
I think most people have their favorite point of view. I'm not talking about fetishes (like Facial, Anal or something) I'm talking about what kind of pose or bodypart we want to see. Some may want to see a medium shot of the couple with the camera having a high shot angle. Others may want to see details like the couples genitalia and the acutal act of doing it. Others may want to see the face(s). Maybe these directors/cameramen try to cater to all needs leaving some of us displeased with the results as we just like a very specific camera setting. That would make sense since there are some POV Only pornfilms and there are others where the camera has a fixed position. (Mostly Amateur shots because you can save costs and embarassement for the cameraman)

Are you sure? Because in your first comment you were deriding the OP for viewing women as being inactive and objectified in sex, in spite of him clearly saying he has no interest in seeing men in porn.

Now you're attributing that view to other people and not the OP.
I wasn't deriding anyone in my first post. I noted the OPs failure to mention the active role of women in sex from the language of his OP. I went on to say that many men (including, perhaps the OP), and later, our culture in general view men as the sole active partners in sex. I further clarified that this is why I believe men are visually more prominent in heterosexual porn.

OP later clarified that he doesn't have this view, but it should be clear where the humor is in people who hold male-centric views of sex complaining about too much focus being paid to men in porn.

I'm quite sure of my own intentions.
I'm sorry, but could you clarify you reasoning?

You make a claim that the OP has obviously male-centric views on the sole basis that he says "Just watching another bloke having sex" That IS how it is in porn. They make it much too focused on the man. He's not stating his opinions on sex, he's making an observation on porn, and complaining about it being like that. If anything that would make me assume quite the opposite of what you came up with, in fact that he wants to see larger roles from women.

You were picking apart his choice of words and ignoring the intentions behind it.

OT: Anyways, I don't find it annoying to see men in porn, it's more the attitude and type of guys they choose to show. Sadly I haven't seen an example of porn where the guy doesn't have an irritatingly smug look on his face and doesn't remind me of an arrogant douche. That being said, I don't care for women they show in porn either. The type of women I'm attracted to are typically not the sort who'd actually do porn, soo... basically I don't watch porn anyways.

So yes, no problem with the fact that guys are shown, just the type of guys.

Fucked if I know. I only watch lesbian or solo female scenes nowadays anyway.

But it isn't a question of who does the deed as long as the deed is done. Most men use pron as an escape and since heterosexual porn is the norm and easiest to find, I guess they just "grab" what is closest to them and have a quick wank. I doubt many men put any real thought of where the shot is as long as there is a naked chick somewhere in there.

So many people not understanding the question. Or at least not answering it. There's usually a few, but this is ridiculous.

The OP isn't asking for a solution, so stop telling him to use lesbians. I'm pretty sure that's occurred to him.

And for everyone saying it's about projecting yourself onto the man, and imagining you are him... surely that would be easier if the camera didn't show his face? If all you saw of him was a bit of his body and, you know, genitals?

You're turning this into something it isn't.

The OP just wants to know why porn made for straight men would spend any time focusing on the man involved. It doesn't matter how 'male-centric' a straight guy is, he's not watching straight porn for the chance to see another man orgasm, he's watching it to see a woman get screwed. For some strange reason, hetero porn tends to flip from the latter to the former, usually near the... finish.

The OP wants to know why. That's all it is.

Both men and women watch hetero porn. Even couples do to. Why is it arousing when you're seeing someone of the same gender as you being pleasured? Are you focusing on that person? I doubt it. There's a reason why guys in porn are seen as props.

This is exactly why I only ever watch girls solo. Lesbian porn tends to be staged and about as real as Hentai, and heterosexual porn... Well, the dudes grunts put me right off >:C

This is why I tend to watch 2 girls and 1 guy (note: not 1 cup :p) clips. More girl time in those ones.

However - to address a certain point - porn is NOT made for straight men.

Porn is made for everybody. Simple.

This is why the man gets focused on as well. A lot of women find it particularly arousing seeing a man about to ejaculate so - if they are imaging the man is doing them - that is what they want to see.

Porn has - to put it one way - matured to a point that it can be watched by both men and women of whatever sexual persuasion.

Also - the fact that porn is now more accommodating of women viewers - is really good for me. :)

I think the notion is that a lot of men are into watching people having sex rather than a woman with a particularly fleshy dildo.

What I don't understand is why they inevitably cast absolutely hideous men in these situations. Either pretend the men aren't there or do some actual goddamn casting.
men in porn are chosen for their penis and sexual talents, not their physical attraction, because, like we've all been discussing, porn is usually for guys, and guys don't care about a guy's physical attraction, because he's only there to serve as a surrogate person on a subconscious level.

I think of porn like dancing. If you enjoy watching dancing, isn't it better to watch two people dance together? sex is kind of a dance designed for 2 people. Sure, if you had a woman on screen dancing a 2 person dance by herself, it MIGHT be easier to imagine yourself dancing with her. But the dance video with 2 people dancing the dance will be a much better video, and you can STILL imagine yourself dancing with her.
I get that that's why they're chosen. My point was that that doesn't make sense when you're also showing shots of the men, as discussed in the OP.

That is something that kind of bothers me about straight porn -- way too much focus on the dude. Seems like just about every video on the internet prominently features a blow job, and they almost always have a camera angle more focused on the guy than on the girl. How on earth is that supposed to be sexy for men? I mean, I know, there's the whole "putting yourself in the picture" aspect, but for most men, porn is purely visual stimulation. There's not much conscious thought going through their heads aside from "Oooh, nekkid ladies doing sexy things. Me gusta." I remember some comedian or a line in a movie or something to that effect, about just how oddly homoerotic vintage straight porn was. As far as I can tell, modern porn isn't much better.

Incidentally, before anyone tells me that straight porn is for both sexes, being, you know, straight porn: it depends on the video. Straight porn aimed at women tends to have a different feel to it than the stuff aimed at men.

Because I can't imagine what lesbian sex feels like..no matter how hot and into it the girls may be...
That said...I really don't want to see the guy...ever...but I can imagine I AM him...

Wait...what do females want to see in porn?........maybe I don't want to know....
but most of the stuff out there is focused on the woman(aimed toward men, supposedly)...
do women like watching other women "in the act"?....that's kinda hot....

I love how the OP generally typifies sex as something a man does with a woman or "girl" rather than something two people do together.

Perhaps not everyone has your particularly male centric view of sex?
Porn generally is hetero, no not all but more is than isn't.

Yeah, It's like role playing. You are the guy! I personally don't see it.
There is such a thing as lesbian porn.
It doesn't bother me as long as the dude isn't some ugly fuck with a porn stache, but I'm assuming you don't like it because seeing their face and hearing them talk makes it harder to imagine the guy as you right? I feel you.
So, to put a video game analogy onto this, it's more like Half Life and less like Final Fantasy. I.E. in Half Life, you ARE Gordon Freeman, whereas in Final Fantasy, you PLAY as the characters.
