honeycomb to chocolate ratio
Gotta look out for the honeycomb to chocolate ratio. It's important! Did you know some chocolate bars have a ratio of 0? It's appalling, and needs to be changed!

...And now I want a crunchie. Unfortunately the nearest place I can get one from at this time of night is about half an hour's walk away. Boo...

It's basically similar to a Kit Kat Chunky but rather than having a biscuit inside it's basically got crispy honey. They're pretty tasty.
I love this description. Like a Kit-Kat Chunky but with a completely different centre.

I know, it's just so terrible. These candy manufacturers need to work on their ratios. I've been trying for years to get them to make the bourbon biscuit/custard cream ratio better - we all know that the best way to do this is to get two biscuits, bite the top biscuit off each one and put them together. But we shouldn't be doing this - they should make a fulfilling, delicious and well designed snack that requires little effort on my behalf to eat it.

KitKat Chunkies on the other hand, now that's a biscuit in the right proportions. And you can still nibble all the chocolate off first.

I really want Honeycomb Yorkies back :( they had a perfect ratio going on. It was like love <3

I'm suddenly in love with the idea of a bourbon/custard cream hybrid...
Kitkat Chunkies do indeed have an ideal biscuit:chocolate proportion. The regular ones have too little chocolate.
Jaffa Cakes, however, contain slightly too much cake, and not enough chocolate. The orangey bit is fine.

I'm in a band/orchestra in which my role is to provide biscuits at each rehearsal. Best job ever!

You are so right about regular kitkats - they don't have enough chocolate. Unless you're lucky to get the whole chocolate kitkat which is pretty sweet! And same with jaffa cakes.

I also think that maltesars are sometimes hit and miss - they need 1-2mm of chocolate and sometimes its like it's barely dipped. What's the point?
I'm jealous of your job :(

Ah, Maltesers. Like an entire packet of tiny, tiny crunchies...
The all chocolate kitkat is always a good thing, but at the same time, you bought it because you wanted the biscuity goodness. Without that, it's not really a kitkat.

And now I really, really want something with chocolate. Why is there nothing chocolatey in my house? :(

EDIT: Also, awesome Chun-Li costume! Halloween, I presume?

Funny I've never heard of a "candy bar" called chrunchie..
You know the Americans call sweets "candies". ;)

Also the American version of Chocolate is VERY different to our version. Try a Hershey's next to a Dairy Milk and there's a HUGE difference.

In a reverse way, I don't think many of us Brits have ever tasted Taffy.
(Especially as it's English slang for Welshmen)

Chocolate over here tastes great, I used to live in America and the chocolate (like the cheese and bread) is awful. You should import some stuff.

There is some great food in the US, don't get me wrong, but British and European foods mentioned above are unbeatable

As many have said: honeycomb with chocolate layer over it, so it's like a honey chocolaty crunchy thing. And apparently it took several attempts by the designers to prevent it from flopping over after a certain amount of air bubbles inside it were punctured. Probably false, but a good random fact if it is true...

Very wise point on the KitKat - but its like a nice little surprise. I don't want to take away it's identity just because it failed to get some wafer. Plus if you're lucky, there'll be wafer in the second bar.

I'll send you some milky way magic stars which I'm currently consuming. Oh wait. I can get you some new milky way magic stars since I've finished this packet.

Ad yep :) Halloweeeeen! Scary haha.

It's basically honeycomb with a thin chocolate layer, and in case it wasn't obvious, it is crunchy. It is REALLY nice :p

Rather than waste time trying to describe it... It's gorgeous- chocolate and sort of solidified caramel tasting stuff.
Goes great with a glass of milk!

Go and ship a box to yourself :p

If you don't like them, send them my way!

Yay! Magic Stars. Although I'm given to understand that chocolate doesn't travel via internet so well. It comes out of the other end all binary-ish. And the '1's and '0's don't taste so great...

I was under the hope the 'O's would help provide a few more bubbles into already bubbly chocolate. But it's fine ;)

After 56 posts I'm impressed a Crunchie which is so simple in form could obtain so many descriptions!

In fairness, about 15 of those posts have been us discussing other forms of sweets.
Also, crunchies are awesome, and fully deserving of this level of recognition!

In hindsight, this has been nothing more than an exploration, research into the hidden depths which not only define the Crunchie in all of its glory, but highlight other chocolatey choices.

We're thinking outside of the box, that's what. I would highly recommend any of the other chocolate bars and biscuits mentioned to anyone.
