Tobal, for PS1.

I have not met anyone on or offline who knows about this game. The character models were designed by the guy who went on to do Dragonball Z...

Shadowrun, on the Sega Genesis.

Frankly, I still don't know why an isometric, top-down version of Shadowrun was so amazingly addictive...but it still is! I could play it for hours and even after 40+ hours I wasn't halfway through.
Have you heard about Shadowrun Returns? [http://harebrained-schemes.com/shadowrun/]

In order of age, from greatest to least:

Cutthroats: Terror on the High Seas. Massive bugs everywhere, but still one of the best Pirate sims I've played.

Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim. Fantastic game, really difficult, if not impossible, to win skirmishes at higher difficulties.

Evil Genius. You control an island full of evil henchman and dim-witted minions, not to mention an Evil Genius bent on world domination. What more could one ask for?

Digimon World. I loved these games when I was a youngun but alas no one seems to have heard of em.
The first and third were fantastic, I still play them. Never owned the second and fourth, but gameplay footage from the second turned me off and I've never owned a PS2.

Alundra, it was fucking magnificent, dark and emotional storyline (seriously) fun as heck and hard and challenging puzzles (sometimes too hard) and tough bosses (some are pushovers though)
I remember hearing humorous stories from UGPM back in the day that the game's puzzles were SO difficult the editors actually took the disc and ran it over with a vehicle.
WHA?! hey ran over a godly game like that because it was too hard?! The game is insanely difficult at times, yes but to run over it with a vehicle...blasphemy!
I loved that game. I don't remember the puzzles being that tough though maybe I have blanked it out :p

Mine was a game called Ghost Hunter on the Master System where you would escort this little girl in a red dress through a haunted house, it was tough but good fun.

I still play it when I have some time to kill. I think the game is considered to be a classic, so I'm sure there's other folks who like the game, but I've never met anyone who's played it (besides my dad who showed me the game).
Oh my god! I used to love that game when I was a kid! It's been so long, I didn't even remember the name of it, until I saw that video.

Thanks for bringing back memories.

Netstorm: Islands at War.

The only game I ever managed to really share with my father, who now hates videogames with an almost rabid passion. It was a really unique and different kind of RTS, with static siege engines where the only moving things were resource gatherers and an almost Tetris-like bridge building mechanic.

I just have to say... Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers. And that unicycle racing game. And there was this awesome NES game my neighbours had, Gun Smoke. OMG Gun Smoke. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun.Smoke

Desert Storm (the helicopter game)...

On PC I used to play Warlords 1 and 2. I think it was Warlords 2 where you could do a custom game and chose hilarious units, like pig cops. Eventually I loved Heroes of Might and Magic 2, which is easily one of the best turn based strategy/RPG games ever made. Everyone knows XWing and Tie Fighter, but how about Mantis? Came on about 8 floppy disks lol.

Oh and we had an Apple IIe, Bouncy Ball was pretty fun. Swash Bucklers was tough. The submarine game only worked some of the time but it was cool dodging torpedos and blowing up ships.

Honestly though I don't remember the vast majority of NES and SNES games I played. I only owned a handful, but back then we got 2 for 1 rental coupons all the time so pretty much every Friday from about November to May I would rent a game and my parents would get a movie, then I'd play the game all weekend. The summer months we'd go to the lake.

Edit: Memory clicked, I think there was an amazing disney game on SNES. Like a Mickey Mouse RPG. I just remember a swampy area with lots of docks, and a haunted house or something like that. Also, was Tale Spin a game? I think it was (as well as a cartoon).

OH SHIT I can't forget this one: SUPER STAR WARS! That game was unreal. So damn awesome and hard. I think I only made it to the Death Star once or twice, never beat it. I remember 2nd level when you drive the landspeeder on Tatooine, playing that with my cousin - you'd kill Jawas and they'd say that funny "oohteenee!" and we'd make up funny things it could sound like, like "egg pee!" "not funny!" etc. We also played a lot of Rock N Roll Racing but I think plenty of people know that one.

Body Harvest for the N64. I adored and played the hell out of this game on the N64. Apparently is wasn't very well received at the time, which is probably why nobody bought it.

Two more from my later teen years.

I think Silent Bomber's final boss should up for nomination as one of the most difficult fights in game history.

Mine is Mischief Makers 64. The game looks pretty crappy on the box but it was filled with awesome challenges and boss fights, including different game play stle than usual.

THIS.
THIS GAME.
I wish more games would let you grab enemies and shake the shit out of them.

Has anyone here played Cell Damage? A fantastically underrated game, with addictive game play and the best cell shading I've seen.

For me this might be a movie license game for the Gameboy called Jurassic Park: The Chaos Continues. It was a decent, fun side scroller.

Power Rangers: Time Force on the Playstation 1. Absolutely terrible game, but I definitely wasn't going to notice.
I played that. I only remember the level that takes place in the wild west though.

I also played Power Rangers: Lightspeed rescue, which was essentially the same thing.
Dude. ME TOO (on the wild west thing)! I can almost remember the entire level design and I have no idea why. I do remember the zord levels being the same as the human boss levels too, except they just made all of the surroundings become miniature building models (sigh). My 5 year old self thought it was pretty cool though.
