Infinity Ward remains "the top destination for development talent in the video game industry,"
Okay, so:
destination implies incoming, rather than outgoing. "Development talent" implies
talented people deciding to make IW their "destination" despite persistant allegations that Activision is willing to screw over people in one of its best performing sub-divisions. And "the top destination"- not "a top", mind you, but "
the top"- implies that
more and better talented people are
incoming to the
destination that is Infinity Ward than any other development studio, despite all logic to the contrary and all suggestions that a non-trivial amount of the IW staff is jumping ship.
This, Mr. Kotick, is what is known as a
huge credibility gap. And that's before we even get into the matter of it coming from, well,
you, a soul much beloved in the games industry for saying things that- while hopefully misconstrued or taken in the wrong context- lead many to believe that your fondest wish is to eliminate the possibility that anyone in Activision will ever produce anything other than a sequel to a pre-existing, bankable property or eke any enjoyment out of their work
ever again.
So to sum things up in a single sentence:
If you really care about your shareholders and your company's assets, now would be a good time to
shut the fuck up.
