well, I for one, I believe the hate is based in reality, I mean, if your company's first goal once an IP becomes successful is to brutally milk it for money then move on to the next unsuspecting victim once people stop giving a damn about the games, I'm pretty sure your company's evil, or Kotick is, hmmmmm, I think I just realized how funny it'd be if the game developers in activision started to purposely sabotage their games so people would stop buying them(or, in treyarch's case, keep doing what they do best, try to be like IW, and failing miserably)

I have to give EA credit. They realized that gamer's didn't like them and they worked towards fixing that image.

I think this happened around Q3 2008...

I might believe that Activision isn't evil..but you are only as good as your weakest link.

Fire Bobby Kotick and your sins are forgiven.

I would say all the hate I have for them is based firmly in reality.

Honestly at this point the best PR Activision could give itself is none, it just needs to stop saying shit.

And I wish Blizzard was its own gaming company instead of being part of them.

Sorry PR guys but the only thing that will appease us is getting rid of Kotick and putting a nerd in his chair.

Well, yeah, they are kind of cool to hate at the moment. Thing is, well, I don't like them because they destroyed one of my favorite studios, make shit games with dumb plots and even dumber inaccuracies (come on, several Ak74s in '63? what the hell were you on, 'cause I want ten bucks worth), all the while claiming their games to be the next thing in realism, when really they're just the next thing in free-publicity, and, finally, having an asshat like Bobby Kotic go around with an unstabled mouth. Then again, what he says in controversial, and controversy breeds sales, somehow...

I'd like to see that image of Darth Sidious being replaced my Kotick's head.

Honestly, I'm kind of a predicament here. I hate 2009 - 2010 Activision for every reason everyone already knows. I said I wouldn't buy anything from them, well, at least anything concerned to COD from Modern Warfare 2 and on.

BUT, I rented GoldenEye last weekend and I'm looking forward on buying that damned game before christmas. Why?, because it's the best damned FPS ever created for the Wii and it is, in my opinion, a million times better than the N64 GoldenEye (and this is coming from a nostalgic guy who wasted more time with that game than he admits).

I don't know why this wretched man... Mr. Kotick... being Activision's CEO for a long time, suddendly decides to open his mouth and say... well.. you know what he said, but I just can't blame Activision for making one of my favorite games of all time even better and making the original one seemed like a bad pre-aplha prototype.

Ok, Activision, you guys don't understand? Clearly, since you're trying to tell us that we have misinterpreted our own opinions. Fine, then we'll finally explain it in simple terms for you:

Developers who make a lot of mistakes but still manage to get a lot of praise from gamers.

Developers who make mistakes and receive a load of bile from gamers

Now, research both of them, then come back to us and read out your brief summary of your findings. If you do not deliver it in the voice of an ashamed schoolboy who promises to be good next time, then you've failed to do your job somewhere down the line.

For extra credit, try replacing Valve with another randomly picked dev, three more times. I guess that maybe two of those three reports would seem a bit embarrassing.

Then, complete your final assignment by finishing this paragraph: 'I cannot improve PR by saying "Gamers should like us more and they're wrong to dislike us" because of the following logical flaws in that argument....'
Go find me a company that doesn't make mistakes.

The difference is how they apporach their mistakes.

When a Stream bug ban a ton of players, Valve give each player 2 copies of Left for Dead 2.

Whenever Activision did something wrong they release press statement like this.

Does that means Valve isn't greedy? No, Mann. Co. is just one example. A micro-transaction on a full priced game. But Valve sure know how to do PR, and Kotick and Activison (under his lead)have no clue what PR is, or even some of the most basic marketing like leader loss.

I read until they said they don't take firing folk lightly and dismissed it as attempted public-connecting bullshit.

Of course they don't care; they have shareholders and CEO's to pay millions, remember? What does Darth Kotick care a shit about Joe B. Logg who works at the Indianapolis dept being fired? He has a CashStar to build.
This. This PR trick is obivous and it just sad that they are trying.

And if they really want to seen as "good" they need to fire Kotick. Maybe by throwing him in a giant hole while electricity sparks...

Of course, if you hate Activision, you're simply out of touch with reality. What kind of bullshit doublespeak is that?

Okay yeah I can understand shutting down game makers because of the "tough industry" and the Global recession that we were in, but churning out COD after COD after COD and GH after GH after GH etc is fairly annoying, as theyre sacking the people with ideas for new games and sticking to what will make them money. Which I can understand to a point because a company needs to make money but hmmmm I think they have enough of that already.

"Activision CEO Bobby Kotick is Emperor Palpatine and Activision is his evil Empire"

There is a huge difference being Awesome Evil and A**hole Evil.

Those who are evil never consider themselves to be evil, so this is hardly surprising. For Palpatine "evil is a point of view" so no wonder in their view they're not evil.
