I think the sad truth will be...Paul Palumbo said:While this is indeed unprofessional, I find it hilarious. The gaming industry needed some fierce competition, and a one-on-one battle of publishers is exactly the kind of thing we need. Just think, if Activision loses this, their first thought will be "This is unacceptable. How can we make our game better? Make them fresh and exciting?" The only reason the franchise hasn't moved anywhere is because they really don't need to. They're the top dog of gaming, and if they aren't then they'll strive to be again. Competition creates innovation. When Halo lost the crown they gave us jet-packs. Better? Debatable. New? Yes.
Activision: This is unacceptable. How can we make our game better?
Other guy at Activision: Fuck that, start making Instrument-Hero games again. Is there a Bassoon Hero patent yet?
Oh holy shit I would play that game.
I'd also like to say that Halo:Reach was a definite improvement not just for the jetpacks and running and whatever, but that they took out a lot of stupid garbage that had been building up in the previous games. Hell, they gave us the best Halo campaign ever, made it multiplayer co-op and didn't even make us go to a halo.
