I think the sad truth will be...Paul Palumbo said:While this is indeed unprofessional, I find it hilarious. The gaming industry needed some fierce competition, and a one-on-one battle of publishers is exactly the kind of thing we need. Just think, if Activision loses this, their first thought will be "This is unacceptable. How can we make our game better? Make them fresh and exciting?" The only reason the franchise hasn't moved anywhere is because they really don't need to. They're the top dog of gaming, and if they aren't then they'll strive to be again. Competition creates innovation. When Halo lost the crown they gave us jet-packs. Better? Debatable. New? Yes.

If activison and EA kill eachover from this, who will mourn?
Well, they both are ostensibly about playthings that young children will cry and scream about...though I'm sure Pixar kept the level of racism and tea-bagging down in the newest iteration of Toy Story.mysecondlife said:did he... just compare MW3 to Toy Story?
Unfortunately...he did. Why? Because....erm....well....they're both pretty looking....?mysecondlife said:did he... just compare MW3 to Toy Story?
I do Agree BC isnt as good as BF, but I concider them 2 different series, BC trying to get the Consoles crowd into the series. Its still a brillant game online is Bad Company 2, but I get this feeling that Dice made them to hold people off while they made Battlefield 3. Your attemt to get an angry reaction has failed btw, so well done.JourneyThroughHell said:I think you're putting too much faith in this community with this article. It's quite obvious that both of them are employing the same strategy and Activision are totally not being the more mature ones about that (apart from Kotick, of course, but that's one guy against almost all of DICE).
Goddammit, DICE, I hope your fucking game is crushed by MW3 so bad, just so that you learn to stop being so obnoxious with your marketing. It's better to stay in one place than to lower the quality of your games. Bad Company 2 does NOT deserve to be a follow up to Battlefield 2.Jaffinnegan said:I take offence to you talking badly about the Battlefield series. Call of Duty may have failed to move a muscle in 4 years, but Battlefield has changed everytime it has a new game in the series, and BF3 has the most inovation of any big seller in about 5 years, and completerly changed the way the game works, the way you play, and added the best destrution system ever in a game.
Feel free to take offence at that.
i agree. Toy story is alot better than Modern warfare will ever be.mysecondlife said:did he... just compare MW3 to Toy Story?
Dude, have BEEN on the internet?TheDutchin said:Im really disappointed in the escapist at the moment, after reading some of the comments on this thread. Heres someone saying "lets stop the useless bickering and start trying to make better games" but all the comments i saw were fanboys saying that CoD sucks, should die, etc. etc.
I mean REALLY. Lets just totally descend into perpetuating the useless school yard bickering on BF3 vs MW3 rather than ascending into "People will have their own opinions". I really thought you guys were better than that.
I agree. Talk with better games, not with this crap. Unless they're going to do like the old Nintendo/Sega commercials.TheDutchin said:Im really disappointed in the escapist at the moment, after reading some of the comments on this thread.
