Great PR Activision and EA. We now trust that you're both ran girly men that'll fight anybody at the drop of the hat and spread slander. Very Mature of of both companies.

While this is indeed unprofessional, I find it hilarious. The gaming industry needed some fierce competition, and a one-on-one battle of publishers is exactly the kind of thing we need. Just think, if Activision loses this, their first thought will be "This is unacceptable. How can we make our game better? Make them fresh and exciting?" The only reason the franchise hasn't moved anywhere is because they really don't need to. They're the top dog of gaming, and if they aren't then they'll strive to be again. Competition creates innovation. When Halo lost the crown they gave us jet-packs. Better? Debatable. New? Yes.
I think the sad truth will be...

Activision: This is unacceptable. How can we make our game better?
Other guy at Activision: Fuck that, start making Instrument-Hero games again. Is there a Bassoon Hero patent yet?

Oh holy shit I would play that game.

I'd also like to say that Halo:Reach was a definite improvement not just for the jetpacks and running and whatever, but that they took out a lot of stupid garbage that had been building up in the previous games. Hell, they gave us the best Halo campaign ever, made it multiplayer co-op and didn't even make us go to a halo.

Moving the industry forward, eh? THEN STOP FREAKING REMAKING CoD4, whores T.T" Also I'm not to sure about passionate team, I would get bored pretty fast if I only had to re hatch the same game over and over and over.... and over.

Hate the child stereotype at the bottom there, but whatever.
If activison and EA kill eachover from this, who will mourn?
The shareholders?

OT: If he had followed up saying CoD "had jumped the Shark" by saying that Battlefield 3 was "Growing the Beard" I don't think they'd have had as easy a comeback.

A developer-vs-developer bitchfight, stemming from neither want to make new, creative content, rather cloned sequels of one another.

Outstanding.

Guys, leave the name-calling until you have something to actually fight over.

Well, they both are ostensibly about playthings that young children will cry and scream about...though I'm sure Pixar kept the level of racism and tea-bagging down in the newest iteration of Toy Story.

Unfortunately...he did. Why? Because....erm....well....they're both pretty looking....?

OT: And here I thought this little cat fight had gone away, silly me.

Can they both just shut up? This is just getting pathetic now.

I think you're putting too much faith in this community with this article. It's quite obvious that both of them are employing the same strategy and Activision are totally not being the more mature ones about that (apart from Kotick, of course, but that's one guy against almost all of DICE).

Goddammit, DICE, I hope your fucking game is crushed by MW3 so bad, just so that you learn to stop being so obnoxious with your marketing.

I take offence to you talking badly about the Battlefield series. Call of Duty may have failed to move a muscle in 4 years, but Battlefield has changed everytime it has a new game in the series, and BF3 has the most inovation of any big seller in about 5 years, and completerly changed the way the game works, the way you play, and added the best destrution system ever in a game.
It's better to stay in one place than to lower the quality of your games. Bad Company 2 does NOT deserve to be a follow up to Battlefield 2.

Feel free to take offence at that.
I do Agree BC isnt as good as BF, but I concider them 2 different series, BC trying to get the Consoles crowd into the series. Its still a brillant game online is Bad Company 2, but I get this feeling that Dice made them to hold people off while they made Battlefield 3. Your attemt to get an angry reaction has failed btw, so well done.

I reckon to only way that MW3 actually had a fighting chance against BF3 is if they had built a brand new engine to run but they haven't and it looks like an overprice piece of DLC

Activison is only pissed because EA got the jump on them smack talk wise. They'd be doing the same. Kotick ain't known for keeping his own trap shut lets not forget.

Im really disappointed in the escapist at the moment, after reading some of the comments on this thread. Heres someone saying "lets stop the useless bickering and start trying to make better games" but all the comments i saw were fanboys saying that CoD sucks, should die, etc. etc.

I mean REALLY. Lets just totally descend into perpetuating the useless school yard bickering on BF3 vs MW3 rather than ascending into "People will have their own opinions". I really thought you guys were better than that.

i agree. Toy story is alot better than Modern warfare will ever be. :p
and while i dont really like EA or Activision, im going to side with EA and hope that 'MW3 rots from the core' as i've never liked MW.

I don't think Activision deserves any respect considering how they treated I.W. after they made them more money than any game ever. Denying bonuses to the guys who made you fists full of cash, I think bashing is the least Activsion deserves honestly.

I agree. Talk with better games, not with this crap. Unless they're going to do like the old Nintendo/Sega commercials.

And am I the only guy who would actually want this guy as the CEO over Kotick? He seems a lot more...charismatic at the very least.
