Though Hirshberg's self-categorisation is not very accurate. Activision is no Pixar, it's more like a Michael Bay / Platinum Dunes type of creative company that creates entertaining and popular works that have no deeper value beyond surface appeal.
EA are in a very similar boat but EA vs Activision is like Brett Ratner Vs Michael Bay... you know which is the lesser evil but they're both pretty fucking evil.
(even though I did love Ratner's Rush Hour)
EA - like Ratner - can occasionally do things absolutely gloriously.
But again... this is no Pixar vs Dreamworks
