I think it would be VERY hard to make a new fallout game that did'nt seem like the DC wastelands. You could set it in the middle of Wales, have mutant sheep, and super mutant chikens, but in the end, it would still end up as Fallout 3 with grey soil.
i would love to see a fallout set in wales imagine the super mutant chavs and the gun fightings in cardiff. but theres only one problem who would be the Bos? theres a british version of the enclave ( i think their called the commonwealth or something) but i dont know if theres a british equivalent of the BoS.

How about we do over with the whole 'ruined US cityscape' idea and try something new. Maybe, an RPG with FPS elements set in post-apocalyptic London Can you imagen fighting your way through Parliament house with hordes of mutant politicians trying to claw your nipples off and take all your money.

I would much prefer a game set in England, why does that never happen? The closest thing we've come to an english game so far has been either GTA London 1960s or Fable, and even Fable tries to hide the fact that it's set in england by calling it 'Albion'.

England was originally named Albion, then it was named Anglo-land, then England. So it's not even a particularly clever disguise. But why disguise it at all? Are Americans completely incapable of accepting that there are other countries in the world? It's been assumed that if you don't set your game in America, then you won't appeal to the American market, but why? Americans aren't bad people who are self-centred and xeno-phobic (well most aren't anyway). So why not mix things up a bit.

Also, I'm not counting 'Resident Evil' because they're clearly making a statement about how terrible all these other countries are compared to America, and that an American should go in there and feed them some liberty, democracy and bullets.
Really? Seriously dude, really? An Englishman (UK citizen, at least) is accusing Americans of being self-rightous imperialists? Do I really need to go into just how hypocritical and ironic that would be?
I can only assume the original fallout took place in America because the developers were American. Fallout 2 was a direct sequel, so it wouldn't make much sense for it to take place elsewhere, would it? I guess Fallout 3 took place in America for continuity's sake.

I believe there are several games that take place in London. In fact, Unskippable did an episode on the Getaway, if I'm not much mistaken. Also, don't Americans play an awful lot of games from a little place called Japan? Last time I checked, the land of the rising son hasn't applied for statehood yet.

The giant snakes and spiders would have forced their way into any remaining vaults and devoured the inhabitants long before they had a chance to fight back.

Also, Rad cassowaries would scare the shit out of me. They've already killed people by stabbing with their claws (three talons, ~10cm in length) do they really need bigger ones?

I don't think New York would work. Not even Central Park would be that great, since it'll just be filled with generic burned trees.

I thin Paris would definitely be something to play, considering all the culture in that city.

Disneyland.

I want to do quests for a mutated Mickey Mouse against the angry Dwarfs who have taken over his teacups.

It could work as a part of Paris, probably not the whole game :)

Yes! This!

Deathclaws replaced with Kangaroos, Super Mutants return, Rad Emus replace Yao Guai, Dogmeat becomes Babysnatcher the Dingo, a Sharp Metal Boomerang and Bushrangers instead of Raiders.

Oh, and the Capital Wasteland becomes New South Wasteland...

Or just the naturally occurring snakes and spiders in Australia. No need for any exaggeration.

I would be nice with a Fallout game in Europe or something, just see what things are over the atlantic. I know it would destroy the whole Fallout feeling a bitbut it would surely be an interesting experience.

EDIT: Things that might look nice destroyed: Eifel Tower, Brandenburg Tor, Kreml and the Swedish royal house.

Spiders are alright the sole of my thong will get em against good, but I guess snakes don't need a rad super power especially a brown snake them suckers can kill down a fully grown man in 30 mins or less

There is no new Oblivion game. There's a new Elder Scrolls Game, but they've said exactly nothing on it, so I'd say New Vegas is coming first.

That, and you should be MORE excited that Bethesda aren't making it. Obsidian are. They made the wonderfully dark (if unfinished) KotOR 2, and are formed from the remnants of Black Isle who made the original Fallouts and the phenomenal Planescape:Torment.

Oh yes, I can't wait either. It's gonna rock.

Really, what in New York would look good destroyed? It would just be ruined building after ruined building, with Central Park being the only recogniseable feature. What made DC work was the fact that there were so many cultural and historical landmarks that were destroyed, and that's what made many feel that it had hit home with them.
This.

I heard rumours of a possible Fallout being held in Vegas. Now that would be a much better area then New york. We could play poker with Super Mutants!
Not a rumour.

That game has been confirmed, it's being made by the team who mde the original Fallout and being published by Bethesda.

It's the one game I am looking most forward to.
