Of course D&D was to blame. I mean all gamers are psychotic , baby butchering, drug dealers. *Face Palm* The idiocy of some people is astounding.

I'm quite sure that she drank water. In fact, every murderer in the world drank water. Obvious connection, isn't there?
This only adds further credence to my wife and my theory that the fish are out to get us with their swimming and their unblinking stares and their evil mind control...
Fish, of course. Damn, it all makes sense now.
Wow, you are screwed up.

Why is that no one really points out in most of these cases that the person has a history of violence as the main point?

In fact: WHY DID YOU HIRE A PERSON WHO SHOT THEIR OWN BROTHER TO DEATH?!

I doubt this is D&D's fault so much as it is people not realizing that violent people are violent (the internet will tell you that if you ask, especially a lolcat). I doubt the fact that D&D is responsible so much as psychopathic tendencies.

Hey! Let's connect some points here to find out some information!

Psychopathic tendencies -> anti-social
anti-social -> looking for a way to spend time/looking for a group to belong to that will accept you
Free time-> hobbies / looking for a group to belong to -> finding similar people, in this case anti social people who will have free time together and therefore find a hobby they can do together
One hobby is D&D

Hmm? Maybe this isn't a cause so much as a result?

People don't understand something, so they shift the blame to a game the person plays/ed, surprise surprise...

I was thinking the same thing, even if the person wasn't found "guilty" I wouldn't hire someone who apparently shot someone to death with a shot gun.

Wow they must have be good killing 3 members of staff requires rolling an 18+ on a D20.

Also Dungeons and Dragons involves bows, swords and magic; not shooting people.

dungeons and dragons isn't a video game (well, there is a decent mmo for it).
Its a dice and pencil game that you play by..... no, nevermind.

Why would police seize dnd books? And who actually thinks it matters? The blame-game gets real petty sometimes. Sounds to me she is just bat shit nuts.

I fail to see relevance. They played a game that thousands of other people play and don't go on violent ramages.

Perhaps it was just how they were? I know! Shocking! God forbid a hobby not be it's cause!

... I wish people would look closer other than 'OMG video games!'

It's not the game that's the problem, it's the people. No offence to all you Dungeons and Dragons players, but lots of the D&D players are basement dwellers with not that many friends aside from their fellow D&D players.
Stereotypical much, mate?
Same thing can be assumed about gamers, you know?
I know right? My D&D group is comprised of IT professionals who all have families, houses of their own, etc. And me of course, a 26 year old recluse who would rather stay at home than go just about anywhere (because all my stuff is at home, and stuff is awesome), but I live in the attic, not the basement. Totally different!

Heck, my 51 year old father is in our D&D group (he's our resident wizard that will always be standing as far away from the rest of us as he possibly can).

Right, that's what D20 rules are for!

Dungeons & Dragons is a collection of scenarios all using the D20 system and common themes. It's Pen & Paper, it's CRPG... Wouldn't be surprised if there was a LARP branch.

Completely misplaced blame though, as per usual with the American media.

Yeah, true, but D&D is a bit more "hardcore", if you know what I'm saying?
I'm absolutely sure it's not.

It might just be possible that people who have murderous tendencies also tend to enjoy D&D, not that D&D turns people into murderers.

Also, every murderer except two didn't play D&D, which means that everyone who has never played it is obviously a murderous rampage waiting to happen.

(The preceding two lines of text were written using extreme sarcasm)

Counting down until the fundies jump on the D&D hate train again...

She went on a murder rampage because of severe mental instability, most likely. And I'm talking like serial killer type instability. Playing D&D has absolutely nothing to do with any of this. It's being used as an excuse to demonize role playing games just like Fox News blames all the evils in the universe on video games.
No,no, it was definintly the D and D, what's mental instability anyway? Probably just an excuse to get out of class ><
Is that sarcasm? Because I can't tell. No, really. I have a hell of a time picking up on sarcasm.
