Jeez people can't you see the real problem. It isn't D & D or video games. All the school shootings have one thing in common. They all happened at schools. So schools must be the problem. Hence schools are evil and corrupting our children and must be stopped. They are turning our children into murderous psychopaths. Heck I betcha if you went back through all the news and looked at all the cases where everyone blamed games when a kid offed his family and/or friends you would find they too attended SCHOOLS. Dum dum duuuh.

I have to wonder. These are brought to light because of what they do. They "investigate" for it, because it's a stereotype. Since the majority of public people who played D&D are people like these, then it's attributed to the game. I bet there's a lot of people who don't go on rampages, that play, but they're not in the news because, well, they're good people.

Yeah, true, but D&D is a bit more "hardcore", if you know what I'm saying?
I'm absolutely sure it's not.
Oh yeah, D&D players are all kinds of hardcore.

[small]Playing D&D makes you the ultimate badass. It's a science fact![/small]

At least one observer also expressed concern that Dungeons & Dragons is a "gateway game" that could lead people to play the infinitely more dangerous Mazes and Monsters, the game that famously drove Tom Hanks irretrievably insane in 1982.
Mazes and Monsters is a far out game.

OT: I wouldn't think D&D would be as big as an issue as, say, blowing your brother away with a goddamn shotgun! I mean, hey, maybe in Alabama there isn't one person who hasn't shot somebody else, but are you guys really that desperate to overlook something like that?

It's great to see the media continuing their tradition of blaming violence on videogames, it's not like anyone ever did anything like this before videogames were invented, because as we all know, Jeffery Dahmer was obsessed with Grand Theft Auto, and Hitler was a Counter-Strike addict.

"Dungeons and Dragons... Satan's Game..."

There's a reference, no cookies though.

"We also suspect that the perp' had hair... " That's pretty much how relevant the D&D connection really is...
I don't even really feel like saying more on the matter...

You can become a criminal mastermind by playing Cluedo?
I've learned to successfully avoid detection by modern forensic science by watching CSI, I've been able to murder relatively hassle free for years now. :D

I've been warning people about this for years. I'm just happy she stopped at D&D. Could you imagine what may have happened if she played WoD, or even.... LOOM!?!

Wait a minute... I play all three of those.... Oh well, guess I'll go shoot some people until it's time to go to work.

I'm quite sure that she drank water. In fact, every murderer in the world drank water. Obvious connection, isn't there?
Oddly enough, that made me spray water out my nose when I read it.

Obvious connection.

How did you happen to have water in your nose to begin with?

Well, I wanted to drink the water, but that would have made me a murderer - so I inhaled it through my nose instead.

It's not the game that's the problem, it's the people. No offence to all you Dungeons and Dragons players, but lots of the D&D players are basement dwellers with not that many friends aside from their fellow D&D players.
Stereotypical much, mate?
Same thing can be assumed about gamers, you know?
Yeah, true, but D&D is a bit more "hardcore", if you know what I'm saying?
Well if we are going to make sweeping generalizations about sub-cultures, I've encountered far more "hardcore" otaku anime fans(using this specific group based on your avatar) than I have tabletop gamers. I just don't judge the entire lot based on a few people.

Don't you know that all murderers have inhaled multiple times in their lives?

Well, I wanted to drink the water, but that would have made me a murderer - so I inhaled it through my nose instead.

I see a connection.

This shooter and all others before him(her?), all had access to firearms and knew how to use them.

Investigator: Hmm, we have a murderer who has killed 3 coworkers.
Assistant: Sir, we have found out that she refuesd tenure, this could mean that the job was stressful and she was not happy.
Investigator: Good point
Assistant: We also found out that she killed her brother with a shotgun, posible mental instability
Investigator: I think were getting somewhere
Assistant: She also played Dungons and Dragons
Investigator: DUNGONS AND DRAGONS! Quick get the Chief of Police we need to follow up on this lead. Were going to need an attorney for the case, Call Jack Thompson!
Assistant: Sir hes been disbarred.
Investigator: Then its too late for the American children. Get Atkinson on the line, we need to ban all tabletop games in Australia before it turns the children into killers.
<gets in fetal position, starts rocking back and forth>
[sub]its just a game its just a game its just a game....[/sub]

OT: ..... D&D does not mean Crazy murderer
