I swear to god, these are children. These are just whiny little children who somehow developed a game.

Hi all,

In addition, we wanted to thank those of you who bought the game and rated it on the XBOX market and the PSN Store.
Indeed, AMY has been #1 in the daily XBLA charts since its launch in all major territories and players have rated it between 3 and 4 out of 5 on XBLA and more than 4 on the PSN despite the controversy.
For us, the players' ratings (almost 9500 so far) are the most important ones.

As always, we will come back to you with updated information as soon as we can.
Thanks a lot.
OK THIS i can support because really the opinions of reviewers are by and large meaningless as a reviewer will on average play one new game a WEEK most people don't have the money or time to do that so they will have a different opinion. i am personally so sick of games being designed to appeal to critics when its us the players who games should be trying to please. i can only hope one day the industry will wake up and see this.

I cant wait for Yathzee to rip the shit out of this game.

If these guys responded so fast, i wonder if they have the balls to actually make a video of them playing, after all, they are the developers, they must show the herd how is it done

Thanks to the internet, the availability of software tools, and the fact that they're nearing career-age, the hipsters we know and despise can now become indie game developers. That personality doesn't go away with age.

You don't like my stuff? It's because you don't "get it." I'm sorry it's too hard for you. I guess we'll just have to convert your thumbs-down into "+1 Elitism."

My problems with the game are that the map doesn't exactly show you the correct location of where to go most of the time, to do certain actions requires pixel perfect positioning or it won't register, the fighting is awful due to poor collision detection, and I was still gonna attempt to complete the demo but there was a spot where she was walking past an edge where she was facing the wall rather than away from the wall and then when I made it across the camera angle did not change and I got killed off screen by a monster I couldn't see or defend against since the in-game camera seemed to fall asleep.

I knew someone called Amy once and she sucked but I loved her all the more for it...

I was giggling like mad at Ms Arendt's tirade on the podcast. Controls like that would drive me insane. It actually sounded like the developers were trying some sort of rub your belly and pat your head experiment.

I'll probably never play the game. There is nothing worse than bad controls combined with timed sections and an escort quest. Hell, why don't they throw a water level in there for good measure!

There's two very big flaws in the developers' logic. Those two flaws being Demon's Souls and Super Meat Boy. Both games that are known for being controller-snappingly hard, and both games got rave reviews. Heck, if I wanted to sit here and actually think about it, I'm sure I could think of some other equivalent flaws with their defense of the game, but I think we all get the point.

hmm it doesn't look that bad at all...
and definitely not as half assed as dead island.

waiting for the pc release..
Here's the big problem with that video, it's basically just the developers saying "Here's a bunch of cool ideas we have", and yeah, they have a bunch of cool ideas. The only problem with those ideas is that they came-out like this: And this review doesn't even hit on all the points, like the problem Susan Arendt mentions in the podcast where a monster in a cutscene would sometimes have a head, and sometimes not... or sometimes he'd have a head, but it would disappear mid-scene.

Edit: As for your comparison to Dead Island, at least Dead Island was competent enough for there to be some debate on how good it was. I personally loved Dead Island, despite its flaws (and I played the game from day one, before any fixes). And at least when people called-out Dead Island's flaws, the developers said "Oops, we'll get on fixing that", instead of with Amy where the developers just said "You're only mad because it's hard." Yeah... classy.

I think they mean "bad controls = difficulty", which is alarmingly common.

I really hope their game designer gets another job.

Remember, kids:

Glitches and bad controls aren't because the programmers were lazy fucks that didn't bother to do a good job or playtest it to see if it was a decent product. It's because the game WAS designed that way to give extra challenge!

Pft. Dark Souls and Demon's Souls were loved for their difficulty.

I just have to say.
I was playing Dark Souls - I've barely started, only just met the merchant with the katana...and killed him. I didn't mean to, I swear, but I pressed a wrong button...and he went for me, so I had to sock him one.

Anyway. I found out that, in order to kick, I had to hold my weapon with both hands, and hit the left bumper and flick the left stick forward simultaneously. At this point, I thought, pah, this isn't going to work. But at least it'll be the game's fault, and not mine.

It worked perfectly. Every time. Theoretically, if I wasn't such a dick, I could have won easily. But my fingers got confused by the notion of actually doing something right, and in the end I rolled about, drank all my estus and killed the spearmen with my face.

And I had nobody but myself to blame. And I still quite like Dark Souls. So what does that tell you?

Well on the one hand, gamers are rather spoiled these days. But on the other hand, there's hard and then there's broken.

It's always nice to see devs putting on the ignorance hat and trolling along, so not only is the game horribly broken they also don't intend to fix it.
