It sounds like another Hydrophobia, I hope Jim picks up on this again.
the problem with hydrophobia was, that the story telling was extremely poor. they focused too much on the water effects in the game.

I concur, there were soo many more issues all over the game for me, like bland platforming, poor optimization, and dull combat.

Also after seeing videos showing amy's phyic powers and how the enemies disappeared after death, I knew it was going to be bad. Most the enemies looks like zombies, and I find it has long since gone the day when zombies were scary.

Why do developers have to ***** and moan when their game turns out to be crap? They never used to do this, why now?

Because it's so much easier to do now. They can reach so many more people through the internet. When I was a kid you had to wait for the magazines to hit the shelves each month.

VectorCell, you've already proven you've made a terrible game, now you insist on proving you're terrible at customer relations too?

Your game sucked; the graphics sucked, the aesthetics sucked, the performance sucked, the mechanics sucked, the plot sucks and now, apparently your ability to take criticism like a fucking adult-run company sucks too. Please do yourself and us, mainly us, a favor and remove yourself from existence.

oh i know how much hydrophobia sucks. i played it my self on the pc. controls, story, voice acting, AI, etc. it took the developers 4-5 patches until the game actually ran smooth and more or less playable. the only good thing i can say about it is the water. now in this game it really looked amazing.
i just dint mention all these details because we are aware that the controls in amy are bad. thats why i just mentioned the bad story telling of hydro.

i dint play amy because its not yet out for the pc. who knows, maybe the pc version of it might be different. thats why im still neutral towards it.
yes, we have plenty of zombie games out there and amy is more likely not a game of the year, but the story seams to be interesting and the ideas are nice. it sucks now on the xbox but maybe for the pc the controls will be better and maybe the game will be better as well. hard to tell at this point.

You have a good point, but even then they didn't seem to ***** about everyone's opinion being wrong. They just seemed disappointed.

Big Rigs hard?

From what I've seen and read it's impossible to lose due to the literally non-existant a.i. and lack of collision detection.

OT: By the sounds of some people, Amy sounds like a game that could have potentially been great. Kind of a shame about how it turned out I guess.

Okay, first thing, usually, a three or four rating on xbox live is bad. Even the most average can get to four. Three is bad. Don't ask me why, that's just the way it seems to work on xbox live.

Then there's what's wrong. During my trial time, I never died. I came close due to s*** controls, and a stupidly dark maximum brightness setting, but I didn't die. Those weren't the most frustrating parts, though. The most frustrating parts were not knowing how the inventory works, the button to take a health injection just plain not working, and then that supposed injection not really working either, searching around for ages for bairly visible pools of blood using a radar with no sense of the enviorment whatsoever, my character having the speed and turning circle of a giant turtle, and having damagable weapons, which I thought we all agreed hardly ever works out well.

All in all, I found it difficult to believe the same people who came up with such an interesting subject had the staggering stupidity to mess it all up so completely, and then the further stupidity to say that we all just hate it because it's hard, and then the stupidity so great it's surprising these people survived past age ten without coming to some incredibly stupid end as to expect that to work.

Vectorcell, I didn't know of you before AMY. And now I never want to see you again.
3 is the default rating. And rating on XBL is a pain. So my best guess is that if a game has a 3 it is because no one bothered to take the time to score it at all. Although after reading this I did a quick check and it had 700+ ratings and it was ranked at 3 while other games I own had more or less rating #s and were rockin 4 1/2 each. Even Final Fight/Magic Sword double game had a higher ranking than Amy so I don't know where this jerk off is getting his numbers from. I just hope that everyone who played this takes the time to give it the 1 star it deserves lol.

I wonder if it'll go the same way as the infamous Deadly Towers?

That game wasn't retardedly difficult because it was bugged; it was retardedly difficult because it didn't offer any of the usual perks to the player to help them win. Turned out, that was by design.

Imagine a weird Zelda 1 knockoff where your only attack is the sword beam, it's weak as balls, and you have virtually NO invincibility frames after being hit by anything. Most of the enemies' modus operandi is to randomly fart around the room.

Oh, and the levels are largely claustrophobic and cramped. There are possible scenarios where you literally cannot enter a room a certain way without taking a hit (the maps are partly randomized too, similar to a roguelike).

Sufficed to say, difficult design does not necessarily mean fun or good.

But from the sounds of things, this isn't Deadly Towers; it's just sloppy game design.

Releasing a bad game is fine, having bad scores is fine, responding to them is fine... not actually addressing the noted issues is not fine. That's when your game goes from "bad but so what?" to "you're a douche and I'm not buying any of your games"

So a game that features unresponsive controls, poor camera, frequent framerate issues, collision issues, darkness that renders shit impossible to see at all, & one of the worst checkpoint/save systems on record apparently gets shit reviews not because it's shit in almost every aspect, but because it's HARD!??

Great logic. Great logic there, VectorCell. Great way to ensure you don't have anymore customers at the end of the day.
