Season 2 of Haruhi Suzumiya was a bit disappointing... It made up for it with Disappearance, but at the time, it was awful...
They could have at least threw in one episode not related to the timeline like they did with Adventures of Asahina Mikuru in season one... I really wanted to see Snowy Mountain Syndrome or even Charmed at First Sight Lover...
Neon Genesis Evangelion(nottrollingnottrollingnottrolling) I heard so much about it, then when I watched it... it was painful to watch, like an awkward movie scene that doesn't seem to go anywhere and just gets wangstier with each passing second.
481 episodes and counting. I still say its worth it. and if you don't read the manga (which I highly recommend)the anime is still amazingly interesting, just to see all the weirdness and imagination that is happening in the One Piece universe.
Oh, and ya... don't count the 4kids stuff from early on. We try to forget about that.
Don't get me wrong it was a new and interesting series, something different from the all that angsts teenage bullcrap. But right at the end oh god it fucked up so bad and that cliché cliffhanger ending was just criminal.
The post-L death note was borderline unwatchable. I almost thought the same about the ending of Soul Eater but I over-thought the ending so much that in the end it made perfect sense and remains one of my favorite animes.
<spoiler=Soul Eater manga spoiler>Even Giriko's death in the manga was really cool and clever when I thought deeply about it. It was stupid that he/she died from too much rage but then again every episode of the anime begins with the phrase a sound soul dwells within a sound mind and body and Giriko's body and mind were corrupt so his/her soul couldn't take it
Yay for giant cop=outs making way too much sense
the repeat show is exactly what the title says it is, a repeat of the series with a new intro. The manga is still going and I was just mentioning a part that would disappoint some but made a lot of sense in retrospect
Gonna get a lot of hate on this one, but One Piece has an on/off disappointment roller coaster with me. I like the epic moments in OP, but if I have to hear another sappy friendship/nakama speech again, I'm gonna lose it. Seriously, a few times was enough. I get it. Luffy loves his friends. Cool story, bro. I'm really gonna get sick of OP, if the whole story keeps boiling down to the moral of "friends are good" ad infinitum.
linebarrels of iron (the mecha designs are nice but thats about the only bit of praise one can give it)
valkyria chronicles (the sudden shift in the second half from light hearted to pure angst was just rediculous, then there's the love triangle they tried to shoehorn in for no reason, the other shoehorned in romance between rosie and zaka, the changing of a couple of events from the game just to show off selvarias powers, random unresolved anime only subplot involving some research lab, selvaria and alicia, alicia being changed from a likeable character to a standardised tsundere, the lack of named darcsens outside of isara and zaka)
gundam 00 S2 (took the premise of season 1 and shat all over it by dumbing things down to the same basic good vs evil moral platitudes in seed destiny, lyle dylandy, severe lack of hal, MARIE! MARIE! MARIE!, grahams character derailment (seriously, mr bushido?) and ali being reduced to a benchwarmer, that rediculous nonsense about GN pixie dust leading to developing a sixth sense, oh and the real big bad being revealed to be a green haired bond villain esque pretty boy)
Said a billion times already but Bleach, just so much uselessness in it. They didn't get any new episodes after like 150 or something on my local TV channel that showed it. They actually began to rerun it. *Leaves room*.
.Hacksigh was also another one, I absolutely loved the idea. I was just getting into the world of mmo's with Runescape. (This was years ago) Plot completely lost me after awhile and the same TV station "YTV" (I'm in Canada) didn't get episodes past like 25 or 30. I hate em so much now.
Theres also no more damn anime on TV anymore cept Pokemon but it's on at 7:30 in the morning. I need to find a specialty channel if my cable ppl's has one.
Bleach hate. .Hack I could probably get if I rewatched the whole thing "Would probably love it really".
Bleach. It's not bad but here's what got me off of it: People constantly said it was just DBZ with swords. I thought it had enough original stuff to ignore that statement. But as the series went on, that statement just kept becoming more and more true. I even quit the manga, because Aizen was defeated, and Ichigo lost his powers, and he had a farewell with Rukia, and life returned to normal. That's it. I'm not reading anymore. In my mind, Bleach is DONE.
Naruto. This is the prime example of the anime adaptation screwing up royally. I still read the manga, and while it's had it's ups and downs, I still enjoy it. In Shippuden (the anime) most of the episodes were exposition or staredowns. I remember the final straw being that episode on the bridge with Orochimaru's reappearance that basically amounted to (and I'm not exagerating here) a 20-minute STARING CONTEST WITH COMMERCIALS.
Neon Genesis. The whole thing about shinji making the entire world sucked balls IMO and no, I never read any of the mangas or watched anything else to with NG.
The Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World?
I liked that game
But you liked the first one? I think the first one was better, but also liked the second one
Glad you aren't screaming at me about how I suck for not agreeing with you or something. I do so love you guys for that.
Anyways, Dawn of the New World. It's not a Tales of Symphonia sequel.
First of all... It feels like it was written by fans of the original game, not the original game's writers.
First of all, the tree. Why can't they speak the name of the tree? Personally, I think it's because the writers don't know what the tree was named. Fun fact: it's named Yggdrasil. No, I didn't read this somewhere on the internet. I figured it out. World tree. Norse mythology. RESEARCH!
And the ending. The "good" ending. That was not a good ending. Ratatosk was going to take all the world's mana. Then move it towards the demon gate to close it. Why does the gate need mana to close it, anyhow? And then he was going to redirect Yggdrasil's mana to the gate, as well.
In ToS, they establish that mana is essential to life.
And I swear, I called almost every single plot twist a mile off. "Hold on a second, is Emil actually Ratatosk?" About five or six minutes later... "EMIL YOU ARRRRE RATATOSK." My reaction was "You've got to be fucking kidding me."
Next thing, Regal's outfit. Why the fuck do his pants now have an opening leading down to his crotch. Just... Why.
And the combat. That was not Symphonia. it was Abyss. This is what I hate about direct sequels in franchises like Tales. Actually, it was Abyss: Shitty version. TotA had awesome combat. Also, the super moves. Oh good fucking god, the super moves. Hits every single party member, you can't cancel or dodge it, the animations are excessively long, and reduces your HP to one no matter what. That's Mario Kart level difficulty. That's fake difficulty.
Now, I haven't played this game in a while for obvious reasons of "I fucking hate it," so this is all off the top of my head.
Wow. I feel a lot better now that I've finally gotten to rant about that game for a while. Thanks.
Death Note - The second part. God damnit, they just -had- to ruin it, didn't they?
Bleach - Whatever happens after the soul society ark. I dun like it, seriously.
Naruto Shippuuden - If I went into the problems this show gained, I think I'd be up here all night.
Season two and three were good. Not only was the whole Aizen thing a total shock, but it also set up the moral ambiguities of Soul Society. That anime had so much potential. Then any sense of intelligence was dropped at a hat and replaced with flashy big attacks and fights that lasted season after season and six frickin' seasons of white pillars against black backgrounds.
Not to mention storylines were forgotten at a drop of a hat. Nel. Grimmjaw. Tousen. Completly shafted for more ZOMGBIGSWORDSANDFIGHTING.
Also, Ichigo is the biggest Mary Sue in any anime, ever.

You're welcome, first of all I don't like to flame people and I like the your theory on the tree, and it seems possible.
Yeah I didn't like Emile either. If I remember correctly they explained that the animals... that had the cores/eggs could somehow keep the balance of mana in th world and everyone would still be able to live? It was a long time since I played it...
Well I enjoyed the read and even thou I liked the game I must say the first one was a lot better. Also the second one was too complicated -.- Everything was so well explained in the first one while this one was full of "surprises"
Agreed. I loved Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, and was excited to spot another in the same saga, but Umineko no Naku Koro Ni just didn't start out particularly interesting, compared to it's predecessor. I kept going, thinking it would get better, but it just seemed to be going in circles with people repeating mistakes for no good reason. That, and I think I figured out the twist half way, since the main character kept dancing around it but not actually saying it. I couldn't watch it to the end, it just ended up a big disappointment.
On that same vein, I was slightly disappointed by Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai. Nothing to do with story or characters, it was overall enjoyable and interesting to watch, but the slowed down pace and lack of violence is very distracting, especially times where they'd have been graphic in the first season. Not so much a case of the series disappointing me, just that one aspect was confusingly absent.
Oh, and Soul Eater. I was pleasantly surprised by it's quality at first, and was really enjoying it, despite a lack of direction. Around the last third though, it just lost what was good about it. Not enough to be terrible, but a noticeable quality drop. The ending though...ergh, horrible. They introduce new things for under a minute, negate them, then don't explain them. The bad guy dies because he falls out of character. Other bad guys just wander off without resolution. Ended on a low note, and I hope there's another season coming eventually to put things back together.
