I have to point you to this, I can't resist and for that I'm very sorry.

Next time you hear this word, just imagine a car.
Thank you for sharing this, I lol'd at the comic and love findng new things/places on the Internet that I wasn't aware of before.

OP: I recently took up meditation to solve anger fits. Medication was attempted for awhile after a series of traumatic events but I ditched them as having feelings, even the inclusion of horrible ones sometimes, is preferable to being shut off from all of them.

Folks new to meditation (including myself recently) can be aided by wearing headphones and listening to calming music. There are works that are specifically modulated and designed to activate the brain waves scientifically proven to be active during the meditation of monks. Try to focus only on your breathing, and how it feels going into and out of your lungs...and "pay attention to attention itself".

If that seems like too much trouble, I find that video games involving the killing of others to not be so helpful. Games that do help me are ones that require focus and passive acceptance of the stimuli, or a minimalist focus on difficulty and goals, such as Rez, Flower, Flow, Fez, etc. It wasn't the intended purpose, but studying and learning new languages seems to have a calming effect on me.

I hope you are able to find peace one day, for me it has been a slow journey of learning and experimentation. The driving force has been the hope that one day I will wake up and feel at peace naturally, and do these things purely for the pleasure they give. If people who have hurt you are a factor in this, try to let it go and create your own path. You don't have to forgive, but realise that grudges only fester within you and that anger will never defeat anger. Best of luck on your journey.

I haven't gotten a moment a true anger in years. Occasional rage but even then its incredibly short and over in seconds. I just get annoyed easily.

Back when I was in middle school I was easily angered, it was like I had adrenalin flowing from the time I woke till I fell asleep. I grew out of it though and never really did anything I wasn't proud of because of it, probably more stuff i'm proud of if anything. So I didn't really have to cope, but these days I suffer from bouts of paranoia and depression.

You sound like bi-polar people I've known.

The game is rigged. Just do the best you can with the hand you were dealt and try to enjoy it. You're a single drop in a very big bucket and drowning in your own rage over it is a waste of energy.
But they pissed in my bucket.

I used to be a very angry child, But when I started practicing Karate and Kokodo Jujutsu along with piano I can't remember when I've ever been angry. The thing is, though, I feel that when I get into an argument or something that really hits me on an emotional level, I feel rage building up, not just being angry (i'm never angry), but rage, so I force myself to stay calm. I fear that if I give in to that rage, I might snap. Like Hulk :p.

But yeah, haven't been angry in years.

Not to question the mods, but I'm totally not agreeing with Vaults suspension. I'm assuming she was suspended for the amount of times she used the word "****" but this is where I take an issue: she was quoting a Yahtzee joke. So it's OK for Yahtzee to talk like that, but community get's suspended for it? That's ridiculous.

OT: I don't really have much of an issue with anger. I can get frustrated sure, but I rarely get angry, at least your level of angry anyway.

I must ask. What is a "**** car"?

Probably doesn't matter or make proper sense as emotions are involved. Emotions mess with logic, perception and the very fabric of reality.

However, I had a look at the blog in question.

Come on - a very intelligent person doesn't call a personal blog VOX POPOLI unless they're called Popol. The very moment people pull out faulty Latin, you know they probably only consider themselves to be very intelligent because their mom told them so.

If the now-suspended little Ms. Sunshine manages to get all riled up about it and makes it personal, the problem is on her side of the line, in the squishy bits within the confines of her skull, not on the blog.

I'm emotionally void, people around me get even more angry at the fact I never match the level at which they tend to raise their volume during an argument.

Well to cope with my I anger I get a picture of the person/fiction person that pissed me off and I tape it to my stabbing plank than grab my stabbing knife and stab the shit out of it for about 15 minutes or so.

The blog is 100% problematic, given how blatantly racist it is.
My instaquick? assessment of that person's mental state and entertainment value was this: abysmal, doomed, stupid, unfunny.

But:

If anyone feels like spouting nonsense on teh interwebs - hey, why not. It's a free world, and life is short no matter who you are or where you live.

If you make it your own little game of hunting down teh stoopid (or anyone you disagree with) on the web, well, I take it you have way too much time at your hands, and you'd have a really hard time justifying your existence to Mr. George Bernard Shaw.

I don't really get that angry, it is a waste of energy, I just deal with my problems rationally or find ways to forget them if I can't fix them.

This thread is a little creepy, almost seems like a cry for help, I certainly hope you are alright OP.

I get more annoyed than angered. My anger is reserved for really stupid people.
Or the bullshit in video games. seriously Capcom. Can you stop using AI from the 90's for your fighting games?

Even then, neither last very long with all the games I keep around to release my anger. Gears of War is my particular favorite, especially 3.

I'm really, really good at forcing myself to calm the fuck down. Don't need a target, channel, or any other form of aid. People tend to think of me as cold and dispassionate as a result.

Sounds like you have some problems there. Might need to get some help.

No, I haven't been angry in a very long time. Might even say I've been anger free for almost a year now, though I was really only angry at one person. It stopped around the time I started smoking weed on a semi-regular basis.

As well, talking to people about what makes me angry and realising its not their fault.
Except in my case it really is their fault.

I get angry when someone cuts me off in traffic. Is that my fault for not riding the bumper of the car in front of me so they can't get in, or their fault for being an inconsiderate tool?

I get angry when this kid at my work flat-out refuses to do any task he doesn't feel like doing. Is that my fault for expecting everyone (myself more than anyone else) to do a few jobs they don't feel like doing, or is it his fault for being a mouthy, entitled little jerkoff?

Someone mentioned counseling. My view is "fuck counseling." Don't tell me it's okay for someone to refuse to do his job just because he doesn't feel like it. IT'S NOT OKAY. Don't tell me I shouldn't be upset at having to watch someone else get a free ride while I do my own work and his, too. That kind of permissive idiocy is what allowed this kid to undeservedly keep his job for three years.

How do I cope? Mostly I eat lots of sugary food, and I rant on the Escapist. I don't really recommend either.

I paint miniatures. Tiny, detailed work gives me something else to focus on.

I also run a Pathfinder game, so one day a week I can give my players problems more serious than any we have in real life.
