That picture looks a lot like crush the castle.
Is that what angry birds is a clone of?
Pretty much.

OT: Well, to put it charitably, this seems rather dubious... I think I'd rather have a Team Fortress 2/Portal animated movie instead. After all, given both Team Fortress 2's art style and Portal 2's ads, I wouldn't be surprised if there's already some kind of Valve/Pixar exchange program.

I honestly can imagine this as a Pixar-esque movie. I mean, it wouldnt be just like the game, but whatever. Hell, it pobably will be the most true to source video game movie ever, honestly.

And yet it will fail.

Unless Pixar continues a downward spiral, which I'm fairly confident is largely confined to Cars. And even then, Pixar is incredibly competent.
Or if they continue the Toy Story franchise. That would be a heartbreaker.

As long as they hire some talent, this might work out for them. I don't think it will be "rivaling Pixar" but it would probably generate a good amount of revenue because it is already a popular name. I don't know many people that haven't heard of Angry Birds.

Tom Hanks seems to believe they are continuing it.
Yup. That's what I was referring to. I thought the ending for number 3 was solid, why ruin it?

I think that Angry birds is a analogy for how the war in Iraq started.

The Pigs (Western civilisation) took the birds (Islamic states) eggs (oil, land, etc.) so now the Birds are flying themselves at structures to kill the pigs (yes I know... I'm slowly progressing towards being a horrible person. The internet does that to you).

Now I havent played it much... So I don't know how to fit in the next stage...

*Sigh* Look, I know everybody wants to be Pixar, but you need a great idea first. Angry Birds is not movie material. You're going to bankrupt your company making a film that has no real chance of success.

Good. When the movie flops and the company goes under, I'll chuckle to myself and thank the gods I won't have to see any more Angry Birds.

My faith in Pixar is draining really fast after they infected themselves with the sequelitis virus and after watching Cars 2, which made no sense, made me feel nothing and was aimed at noone. So, hey, the more competition the better. Although I doubt that copying a free flash game, selling it for money, having it miraculously be a huge success for no apparent reason, and then buying some animators is the way to compete in the big leagues. But good luck to them.

If there's any indie game that I'd kill to see turned into a full length animation, it's Machinarium. But that game actually has content and atmosphere and stuff.

Toy Story 4: You get to see the toys slowly decay thousands of years after mankind has died off the face of the earth.

I want that Roosterteeth one to be made...
That's what I thought more people would bring up. Didn't Rovio see the fake trailer they made? What happens when Rovio makes a real movie based off of angry birds? Will rooster teeth have to redact their trailer like Yahtzee with his Duke Nukem Forever one?

It'll bomb, definitely. No doubt, the game itself is only good for a mobile game, nothing else, the game on any other merits is just a slightly non dirty turd.

I hate when people do stuff like this. There is nothing to work with in the game to build a movie. There basically going to have to write everything create the entire story and then just add in a few things from the games to make it connect. Why would you do this? Why make this connected tot he games why not just have a separate movie about birds and not even bother hamstringing the title of the game onto it. Oh this is just stupid.

Do you hear that? That is the sound of milking a dried up cash cow. Considering Rovio has done bollocks all since the success of Angry Birds beyond re-releasing it as the 'seasonal' 'rio' and 'magic' editions, it's starting to smack a bit of desperation if they think they can float their entire success as a company on the success of one franchise, particularly so if they think for one second that they are capable enough to produce a goddamn movie out of it. How about putting down the Angry Birds for a while and actually develop another new mobile game? Just so we all know that that one franchise wasn't just, y'know, a fluke.

One way or another, this is bound to be hilarious.

It'll be a sad day when Angry Birds gets a full feature film before TF2, though.
