It most definitely is not. Apparently I inspired this thread in the first place due to my previous avatar.

Sure, it wasn't the best choice at the time, but I enjoyed it while I had it and for what it was.

I vastly prefer my current avatar though.

Nope, I came across it using Stumbleupon. I did fiddle with it a bit in GIMP thought, mainly to get it down to size, but I changed the colours a little too.

It's so pretty, I always find myself staring at your avatar. I wish my cat did that

Mine doesn't fit the so called "guidelines" but they are pretty pointless when there are many great avatars that don't loop perfectly and so what?

I am thinking of changing mine to something King of the Hill related though, not quite sure yet.

Personally I like your current one, it's fun to watch and the one you included in your post kinda loses some of the detail when it's sized down to 85 by 85:

Kinda tempted to change my avatar to something really obnoxious but then I like my avatar, it makes people punch their monitors.

Most animated avatars are animated for no real reason. You're just making an already slow site load slightly slower.

My apologies, how could I forget Lord Ninetails, originally I wanted him as my avatar as he's the reason why I love kitsune, but alas there's no gif of him and since I'm ignorant in the art of gif crafting, I simply use Kurama as my avatar.

Ninetails may have lost to Ammy, but in my opinion he's more badass

Well, I appear to have passed this little "test," for all that's worth. I don't really see the point of being so judgmental toward other peoples' avatars, but whatever, that's all personal preference. I enjoy the majority of the animations on the Escapist. They add a bit of personality to the user, such as Daystar's Ammy.

As others have said, you can easily disable avatars if they bother you so much. :/
