dracula is hollywoods creation based on Vlad Tepes, and almost none of it is true.

1) Because the insane faboi ism behind animes, seriously some people take it way too far. Also a lot of animes (at least the popular ones) suffer from DBZ syndrome. And the over abundance of battle anime.

2) I'm sorry but Bleach is your ultimate anime? Not to flame but it is DBZ with shikigami. Same old story of protagonist goes to fight stronger guys, omg I can't beat them, time to train, ha ha I powered up, ultimate move...It's no deeper than watching the WWE, guys get thrown off ladders, beat with chairs, slammed to the mat but they keep getting up. Suddenly the guy uses his "signature move" holy crap the guy is out cold...

why is it hated so much?

Because anime fans have two major stereotypes. The first being little kids who think anything from Japan is cool because they like ninja and samuri stories. The second being grown-ups or teen otakus who think anything from Japan is cool because, well, they think they are really Japanese born on the wrong side of the ocean. Both are incredibly annoying. In addition to stereotypes, there is also hentai, which is viewed as worse then Western pornography because of elements like rape and victims being minors, or pretty damn close. Actually, the age of consent is 13, I think, in Japan. That may explain it. When anyone not literate in anime hears about anime, they think porno.

Stereotypes and hentai cause plenty of prejudice towards anime and its fans, but there are also people who genuinly don't like it because they dislike the art style or the Japanese archtypes and conventions. Fine by me, but its the prejudice that gets me.

As for the other questions, I'll shut up because they turn on my inner fanboy.

what do you mean by 'ultimate'? most powerful, smartest, funniest, evilest, personal favorite etc. my favorite would be Kiba from Naruto (hence the avatar).

Poor dubs and the animation age ghetto. (I actually prefer English dubs, just because I like to multitask, which subtitles aren't very conducive to.)

Code Geass (Good characterization, not an adaptation which means no filler, combination of action, drama, and suspense, interesting intellectually at times...)

One of my favorite characters would probably be Sesshomaru from Inuyasha, which is probably mostly out of nostalgia. I also really like Rolo from Code Geass a lot.

Haruhi. The cast is wonderful, the series is playful and genre savvy yet has a strong plot running through it (maybe not apparent quite yet, but it will be), Haruhi's desire for an interesting world hits close to home for me, and the series just has an uplifting quality to it.

I'm by no means a dub-hating weeaboo, but I'm with you there. I saw the first episode of Naruto dubbed, and holy shit it was bad. I know Naruto's supposed to be a rather hyperactive kid, but the voice was too damn high and shrill. Also, for some reason, the next-episode segment at the end reminds me of Caillou.
