Oh come on anon. Some of us find it useful for keeping in touch with our friends without having to resort to google groups or email. I just find it damn convenient.

...I get that you're probably pissed at what's-her-name-zuckerberg. Isn't there a better way to get back at her without annoying the hell out of regular people who have no...........Why am I even typing this? Anon probably WOULD find that funny.

...Aren't there worthier, more lulzy causes to pursue?
There is not much of a more worthy site on the net... everyone who has a computer knows what facebook is, it would be a massive hit if they actually did suceed, it could even have a ripple effect on other sites that trade info, leading to them into fearing anonymous.

I agree though, it would be inconvenient as I sometimes talk to people on facebook, however facebook is known to trade information, so I partly agree with anonymous on this one too, they want to control the internet and enable free speech and privacy. This could lead to massive changes in the future.

Also the zuckerberg person is a he not she.

Go Anon!
Fight the good fight for the fighting of the fight is the fight we must fight!

I hate Facebook. With a passion. The only thing i hate more the facebook are some of the idiots that are on it. And while i may not think Anonymous is doing the 100% right thing. At least theyre doing something.

There's a storm coming.

All I got to say it took Anonymous this long to figure out you don't own the info and stuff you post. I knew that when I joined.

And also remember, remember the 5th of November.

The only thing I actually do on Facebook is share pictures with friends and plan get togethers. These could all be accomplished with a little more effort with my phone. If Facebook goes, it will be missed, but eventually forgotten.

Notice the words apparently. Honestly I haven't one hundred percent made my mind up about anon. Are they nerdy hackers with a sense of self righteousness? are they doing it to show off? are they for the good or for the bad. The team them selves I haven't made my mind up on. However if they stand for internet freedom and they're doing this for the reasons of stopping people from freely (with their own free will) giving out their private information then I honestly think they're going against they're own point and are in fact, fascists. They may think they're doing well but that's actually how it all starts for every criminal organization or terrorists.

My rant was more against that kind of justification that was presented. Again I have no idea on whether Anon are actually doing this or what their reasons are. I'm just going with the information presented to me.

You ask the question Why do they get to do it? Why do they get to fuck up everyone elses tree fort? Simple, because when left in the public's hand, the public did absolutely nothing to fix these problems to the point they were led blindly to believing there isn't even a problem.

Make no mistake, this is not some knee jerk reaction. There has been decades to fix these problems yet the herd refuses to act in its own best interest. The actions of Anon exist for absolutely no other reason that the publics complacency. If the public had fixed these things before they got this bad, Anon would not exist.

So as for your fire analogies, Its Sort of like a person paralyzed by fear inside a burning building. Sometimes they will even resist the firefighters trying to save their lives. Sometimes they will even force the fire fighter to leave them behind because they are too afraid to be saved.
oh,. and when the did decision get to fall on the collection of 21-35 anime loving, socially awkward, completely batshit individuals to decide whats right for the public? Who are they to make that decision for the masses? When did we vote for their voice to be ours?

even more importantly, what kinda complete egomaniac-like madness would make a individual believe he gets to wield this kind of power?
Again.. when the public sat with their thumbs in their ass and let things get to the state they are currently in.Where was the backlash for corporations being given rights that trampled on individual freedoms and liberties set forth and protected by the US constitution? How about the words of Black? Where was the public outcry at Carnivore? Thats right the public didnt give a shit because it was too busy posting irrelevant status updates(rhetorical) no one gives a shit about and artificially inflating its sense of belonging. You (as in the public, used as such herein) voted when you did nothing. You used your freedom of speech to say nothing. You used your freedom of speech to beg to have more rights, freedoms and liberties taken away from you. You ask who are they to decide? Just by way of example they were a major contributor to the Jasmine revolution, How have you contributed?

This isnt even a case of one group deciding for another as much as this is a situation of junkies addicted to their complacency. Thats why this is why face book is a target. Sometimes when all other reason fails, you have to shake a junkie loose from their addiction and make them work it out of their system cold turkey because in most cases of addiction the addict doesnt realize they are addicted, and doesnt understand that their thought processes is completely flawed and runs counter current. The only thing that gets their attention to make them realize how they are hurting themselves is to separate them from their addiction.

This isnt some knee jerk reaction. The public has had ample time to get these things under control yet does absolutely nothing but perpetuate this garbage and if you leave garbage to pile up long enough, eventually someone will come along and clean it up because they are sick of enduring the stench.

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

With all that said and my prior posts, I have said all I can on this subject. I will convince you of my position no more than you will convince me. For me theres no more reason to continue speaking on it because I have expressed my opinion and elaborated on it.

You can take it for what it is worth, but I would ask, if you truly are against ANON and their ideology, then step up, fix the problems. Present a better way than what they are trying to do. I think theres more than enough people who are beyond pissed off at how screwed up things currently are and the various ways they are being screwed over. They are willing to consider a better way. If what is presented is better you will not want for support.

Now.. its off to the movies for me.

I am so sick of these guys, the people operating under this goddamn banner. Surely even they understand that a malevolent, faceless cloud, destroying whatever it does not like, is EVERY BIT AS TERRIFYING as the fucking corporations they hate so much.

That whole fuck up earlier, with the PSN? With a splinter cell of that other splinter cell tearing shit apart, and no one being able to place blame? That is not a good thing, and it is exactly what the existence of Anonymous as an activist group does- lends too much power to each and every invisible individual within it

In other news, a mouse announces its plan to take down a fully grown bear.

Seriously, you can send DDos attacks all you want, but an empire like Facebook won't fall just because of teh haxxors.
You have obviously not heard the story of a rat killing an elephant, it's a true story.. anything is possible. Sony is a corprate giant... lulsec took them down a couple of notches and even shifted the blame on anonymous and then onto an individual that got a court sentance as if it was him alone that took down sony.

lulsec is not as powerful as anon and it managed all that, now can you seriously say that they can't manage taking down a single site?

This is just idiotic. It is impossible to destroy facebook. Facebook is a multimillion dollar business and will not let something at pathetic as anon stop it.
Again, does no one pay attention to what has been going on recently, it does not matter how much money they have it's still just a website, websites are anon's speciality, a small group of outcasts from anon pwnd sony, it can be done again, twice as fast, twice as long by the main branch.

LOL

http://encyclopediadramatica.ch/The_Bloody_Board

We've got ourselves an ED celebrity here.

Not particularly important, just some doxed white knight, but still someone to get mentioned specifically for being an embarrassment on ED and not smart enough to change their name.

Btw Anon pretty much built ED from the ground up. Why would they take it out?

God I hate anonymous.

Not because of what they stand for, just because they're so predictable.

It's not even funny or, dare I say it, lulzy anymore.
It's just hack after hack. yawn.

And then they act like this big, omnipotent entity that strikes fear into the hearts of big business and conservative agendas everywhere. You're not robin hood. You're hardly even a blip on the radar for most people. None of my friends IRL even knew why Playstation Network went down, all they knew was that it went down and they wanted it back up.

Which brings me to another topic: to you people who don't have a facebook, grow up. It's 2011, and the only reason you do it is so that you can say "ugh i don't have a facebook cause it's stupid." We get it, you're against the grain. Good job.

This isn't for people who just don't care about facebook, I'm talking specifically to the people who have an strong opinion about facebook, yet still don't have one because they're too cool for it.

I talked down against anon, so guys start flooding my e-mail box. lovely.

So much for freedom of speech, eh?
That doesn't mean people aren't allowing you to communicate. It just means people disagree with you. And it isn't an ebox, it's an inbox.
I don't care, 2 people where just banned because they "disagreed" with me by flooding my box with racism, cusswords and idiocy. You know, the way anonymous usually does stuff.
When the hell did they sware, or their moves not without reason, also, they didn't hack PSN, that was Lulzec, remember? And yeah, people can disagree in ANY WAY they want, if people disagree by being asses, well, their disagreeing by being asses. So you got 2 people banned for not being able to take shit from people on the internet? Whatever, but my point still stands, Anonymous is pretty god damn powerful, and only want people to be more safe with their info, and teach sites that the internet is something to respect, along with the ability to flourish its own, special brand of freedom wiskey. Again, when was the time they did something without a sight of being provoked?

Edit: I just noticed something, you just got here, why in the hell are you trying to tell people that their wrong or right, or that this person is idiotic or that person is an ass. Sure, but whats their right? Well, simple, their ACTION is their right.

Good luck with that anonymous. I'm pretty sure you're not even big enough to take out facebook.
...

Just take your shit off facebook, dude. Anonymous has some considerable power, and it's better not to have personal information on that site anyway. I'm just saying prepare for the worst, because there's a good chance of them pulling this off.

Isn't ED one of Anon's "strongholds". I could be wrong about that, but that would be counter productive to anything meaningful, or simply a waste of time if I was wrong to begin with.

There is a line which people need to learn. Flooding his inbox is childish but meh click delete all and poof all gone. Keep doing it for a few days and sure I'd have a banhammer sent for them anyday of the week and twice on sunday. Flooded with idiocy? Everyone has their on opinions and they can express it. However curseing is generally tolerable to a point but racism isn't and should be dealt with severely. We are all human, get used to it people. So for those that were banned for racism I say good riddance. Wish we could do more to cleanse them of their idiocy(regarding racism)

have you ever visited a chan with a invasion board before? they don't need reasons to attack people, they just do it when they feel like it. I can link you to one or 5 if you want? You want everyone else to see how anon acts behind closed doors?

also I agree anon is powerful, like a bunch of monkeys with rocket launchers. they scream, throw poop and shoot at anything that displeases them. they don't teach anybody anything but fear. They don't care about there backwards agenda, they just know they have the power to hurt things without being punished for it, so they act in the absolute most coward like way imaginable.
HAHAH! That monkey pun was a funny image, anyway, have a good day. So how is this cowardly, though? Hacking is the same as stealing intelligence, corporate espionage, it still leaves tracks of a crime, and can still be de-coded and tracked, a crime IS crime, no matter its form. Robbing a bank leaves clues, hacking a PC leaves clues. So, any reason this is cowardly?
