It's anonymous not lulsec, they don't do it for the lulz, they do it to keep information free.

I'm not sure I agree with everything Anonymous does, but I really, really hope they pull this off. Facebook is idiotic. I am sick of hearing about it, and sick of never getting to do things with a certain group of friends I have because they only announce outings on Facebook.

In summary, good riddance Facebook, you idiotic bastard-child of forums and cellphones.

I don't have any personal info on Facebook except my name, and that's on the electoral register and in the phone book anyway. I barely use Facebook. I'm still waiting for the social networking backlash that I'm sure is going to happen eventually.

That said, why the hell try and take down Facebook? Okay, so the owners are prats but what purpose would it actually serve other than criminality? It maketh no sense.

Why does this just sound like them needing attention? Guess we need to go visit the troll exhibit more often...

I hate Anonymous nothing more then a bunch of internet bullies and scum.
I agree... I don't really understand the point. -.- Just like I didn't understand Lulzsec (excuse the misspelling, if I have) hacking into somewhere like Bethesda Softworks, either.

As long as they don't fuck around with my account/steal my details I don't care what they do. I only use Facebook to keep in touch with people I hardly ever see, so I guess I'd just see them even less...

Sounds really serious. On a side note, did anyone else picture the Arbiter from Arby n the Chief speaking during their video? I for one will always associate him with Microsoft Mike and probably will for the rest of my life.

I'm torn. Facebook is the only contact I have with most of my friends outside of school, but it is full of idiots. And I hate idiots. Especially human idiots.

If it happens, it happens. Whatever. I still have a Google+ invite pending, so I can just activate that.

Well. This is about the best idea I have seen out of the freedomnetwork 1 year 3 phases campaign thus far and by far the most logical.

I wish Anon well in this endeavor because it is truly one of the steps that need to occur in order to Jostle the internet community out of unadulterated complacency. It also serves as perfect transition from phase one to phase 2. However, it is also the most dangerous thus far.

It needs to happen. Anonymity on the internet must be restored in order to restore its vitality. I wish it well, and hope it doesnt end in a complete catastrophe like I sense it will. Its a shame such great lengths must be gone to in order to fix problems created by the ignorant and complacent.

Have they nothing better to do? That's all I can really think when I read about these folks.
Sadly some people who call themselves anonymous have nothing else to do, at least a certain core of anonymous consists of people who lack either a social life, a job or both.

Nothing is safe in a world where idiots live. So I might change some of my facebook info, as the paranoid chicken that I am, despite not really caring about facebook.

I kinda want to see this happen. The backlash of a social networking site goes down people flipping their shit. It's gonna be awesome.

I don't buy it. This isn't Anonymous' style at all. Say what you will about their methods, but it all serves a purpose. Everything they do is free speech and freedom of information. Taking down Facebook doesn't help that goal in anyway shape or form.
Actually it does.

Facebook allows the government and whoever else to monitor what you do, what you like, who you associate with, etc. It is very common for big companies to do background checks by looking at your Facebook profile. Look it up if you don't believe me. By taking FB down, you take away the power of "The Man" to watch every move you make and everything you say.
No, you just make it marginally more difficult. You can be tracked via cell phone towers, and FB isn't the only company with crap security.

And while we're at it, I have a hard time supporting such lovely freedom fighters as Anonymous given that their happy freedom loving hack on Sony saw one of my credit cards get compromised (as in, people charging things to it). Don't fool yourself that this is some noble venture, unless "stealing people's money" has suddenly become a great cause.
