Oh for crying out loud, Anonymous, really? You're going to throw toddler tantrums and disrupt the rest of us because you won't play nicely together any more? I used to quite like Anonymous when they were kicking the asses of those who deserved it, but now they're back to their initial juvenille crap.

This vicious cycle is just going to keep going isn't it? A leopard really doesn't change its spots...

There is no evidence Anonymous is behind this... This could be pulled off by any individual or group of hackers.

I call bullshit. It's too convenient an explanation.
Agreed.
Plus they're called Anon for a reason. If the person doing it showed his identity, whether internet or real, Anon will deny any claims of the hacker belonging to them, even if he was with them to begin with.
It's gotta be some smaller faction of hackers, or a lone hacker who did this.

This article name is misleading, just the word "hacker" is fine. Anonymous would not hack Eidos there is no "lol" or retribution there. I do despise hackers who go for selfish gain, but what I despise more are the people who group an entire populace together for the actions of few, like the racial profiling after 9/11.

Now Square-Enix need to send their cybernetically enhanced corporate mercenaries to track down and eliminate the hackers. That would be cool.

What do you mean they don't have any? This is the 21st century. The future is now!

Fuck off.

I don't care if it's Anon anymore, I wish every hacker on the planet would just fall over and die.
Yeah, and while we're at it, how about every gamer, every cop, every soldier... fuck it. Let's just find every demographic that has had a few of its members do horrible things, and kill 'em all. At the end, there won't be any one left to do horrible things. Granted, there won't be anyone left to do horrible things to either, but dammit, I don't care if the world has more complexity and subtlety than I'm prepared to deal with, I've made my blanket judgments and I'm sticking to them!

/sarcasm
Hell yes! That's sounds like an awesome idea.
Hackers? Dead. Pirates? Dead. Ninjas? Dead. Politicians? Dead. Alcoholics? Dead. Taxmen? Dead. Tax evaders? Dead. CEOs? Dead. Postal workers? Dead. Teenagers? Dead. People under 30? Dead. People over 30? Dead.
Sounds like a good start. Can we extend that plan to the rest of the animal kingdom? Sloths are a bunch of jerks.

OT, I highly doubt this is legit a group of Anons. Deus Ex is a sacred cow to most of the ones I know, and the idea of even threatening the creation of a new game in the series would be to them what slapping a nun would be to a Christian.

I do certainly hope you caught the sarcasm in my previous post. No, it wasn't a very delicately worded statement I made but I thought it'd be obvious that I didn't actually mean that every hacker in the world needs to die. Just the assholes.
I'm being technical but I believe the term Cracker would serve you better to distinguish your precise meaning.
Is it bad that it took me a couple seconds to figure out that you weren't talking about kind you eat? I'll be sure to use that in the future, thanks.

how bout they renamed it to "Deo ex"

fucking mongoloids and their latin
now why would they do this?

It is an obvious reference to the deus ex machina, which was used in greek tragedy when a person playing the god was held in the sky using a primitive crane, it litterally translates to god from the machine, which is what the quote at the end refers to.

See? it all fits together beautifully

Anonymous didn't do this, Chippy1337 did. You can't be anonymous if you have a name.

I would like to know what this douche-bag's motivation was though.
Yup. How can you be anonymous if your identity is separate from everyone else?

Gah, anonymous or not, they're going too far. I mean, why there? Why Eidos of all places? What in the flying fuck did they do?
Eidos is square enix... they released a fairly shit final fantasy game recently.

That's a pathetic, petty, childish reason to do something like this.

Then again, I guess I'd expect no more from an organization that is consistently becoming more and more pathetic, petty, and childish with each endeavor.

EIDT: Not to mention that there's a reason that it has a different name- Eidos didn't make Final Fantasy. So if that's their reason, which I highly doubt (see: hope) it isn't, that's even more fucking pathetic.

So they're attacking a company because they're not making the game for PC?? Wow!

What's next, attacking Toyota for the car recalls they did last year or so?

I've come up with a solution on how to get them... First, I'll put them in the incinerator for a year. Second year? The cryogenic freezing wing. Then...10 years in the room where all the robots scream at you. Then, I'll kill them.

Splinter group, rogue faction, call them what ever you want. Anon are a bunch of computer cowards.
Are there computer heroes? Isn't the idea that everyone on the internet is anonymous and therefore everyone is a coward? IDK. I'd say it's pretty hard to call trying to hack the NSA an act of cowardice, you'd have to have some big hairy ones. Not that Anonymous does that, if they were good enough to do that then they would have either been tracked down and killed or hired.

I've never been one for hero worshipping these guys. The Gene Simmons incident was the first I heard about them. A group claiming to stand for free speech obstructing someone's free speech because they didn't agree with it? Yep...

Hey guys! look what I found!

http://pastebin.com/YsS2PJA6

I really doubt he's anon. from a really quick google search, I found that he's a pretty big noob with hacking, that above url just proves that.

googling further gave me his whereabouts too. ;)
he's from Sweden. No one from anonymous would be that easy to find

What exactly was the point of that? Just to do it? Is this a splinter group who's only goal is hack random high-profile crap?

Even worse, their only company would be Wheatley, his incessant talking would be an additional punishment.

How are your crusaders looking to you now, Andy?

What did Eidos and it's fans and applicants do to them exactly?
