That's cute. Anonymous crack me up sometimes, really. I wonder how your average Anonymous member would fare in Libya right now?
Yeah, because that quote wasn't completely made up at all. I'm sure the Escapist has reporters on the field interviewing Anonymous.

And, surprise! there's no integrity issues because anyone can be a member of Anonymous.
The quote is from the New York Times article that our post sources.

Is it me or is arguing the point of Anonymous' choice of the Guy Fawkes--AHEM, V for Vendetta--mask irrelevant to this article? If you wanna argue about whether TW should have rights to a historical icon that's fine. To which I would say if the masks are being marketed as "V for Vendetta Guy Fawkes" masks (which they should be, since no one gave a ish this century until the movie came out) then yes they have rights to it.

Anyways, this is easily the most duh "news" post I have read here thus far. Umm, how should I gamerspeak this... businesses that make stuff make stuff? Royalties pay royalties? Paying for stuff pays for stuff? Afghans had to buy Russian AKs to fight for their independence? /matter. It must have been a really slow news day to have randomly picked a subject and decide to find a way to extrapolate on any to be had irony. And it's not like Time Warner is #1 on Anonymous' hit list. In fact, 30 seconds on Google says Anonymous has never done anything related to Time Warner. I suppose it's the NYT's article but re-posting it here was fail.

Well, considering one of my brosephs is Anon and he has more firepower in one room of his house than most armies of the world, I'd say he'd settle everything by sundown. :p

This guy owns tanks.

What I want to know is who is making money off all these Che Guevara shirts you see people (plenty of whom probably have little knowledge of what Che did, what he stood for etc. but that's beside the point) wearing. You just know that'll be some shady capitalist corporation that Che would likely despise.
The guy who made the logo made it so anyone can use it... However then people started trying to make a profit withi it. I hear that he is starting court actions to stop people using it to make profit (especialy if the profits don't contribute to spreading socialist ideas and what not)

If you want to express your love for Cuban communists buy a castro shirt made by Cubans. When I was at the the war and peace show there was a guy selling them who does aid work and stuff in Cuba.

White middle class parents cramping your stlye? Buy a Che shirt!

Need to fit in with the other liberals? Buy a Che shirt!

Feel guilty about being rich? Buy a Che shirt!

Actually support marxism, socialism or other political theories that tie in with the policies of the Cuban government?...

DO NOT BUY A CHE SHIRT!

Ahh Ninja'd

Still people don't seem to think about what Che stood for, they just want to wear a popular shirt. You'd think they'd know. Companies must be laughing.

Good lord we found a fucking ironic dingy, hur, hur, hur...

But what if Anonymous is really working for the Catholic church? I'm pretty sure that would make them badass. Trying to overthrow the Protestant west to install a Vatican friendly government.

Dude, totally gonna write a fucking awesome script for a movie now.

Not really, the church was against using violence. Pope Clement VIII felt that using violence to achieve a restoration of Catholic power in England would result in the destruction of those that remained
Hold on, you're saying that the tenents of Catholics are not the same as the Catholic Church? Next you'll be saying they're not responsible for the Crusades, the Inquisition or the paedophilic priests...

And then we might even say they're not all bad!!

What will the Atheists think? ;)

Joking aside, his efforts would have helped the Church immensely (by removing their one enemy to controlling the UK), but it's tough to work out where his loyalties lie. Certainly not with hackers though.

And the relevant parties care... how?
"Enemy mine". Look it up.
Already saw it. Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing though, Reptile alien guy and a human get stuck on a hazardous planet and try to set aside prominent racial prejudices for the sake of survival. Right? I still don't see how that is precisely relevant. The Anonymous ones are likely to be uncaring of this information, and won't succumb to some sort of ridiculous paranoia over the issue. Their attitude towards this can thus be exemplified by a chorus of crickets.

And the symbol is flawed as well.... "Fawkes was a fighter for Spain and the Catholic Church. His goal was to end the slightly more egalitarian Protestant revolution in England by restoring Catholic domination." (quote from Cracked.com)
P.S. First!
I think they're taking the mask from V, because Guy Fawkes never actually wore the masks.

And then they realized their mistake and anonymous exploded... and there was much rejoicing.

That's interesting and silly. I like it.
