Anonymous self proclaimed defender of the Public and Public proclaimed idiots.

They don't defend or help anyone they're just a bunch of cyber-terrorist nerds who like stroking each-other.

I've been saying for a couple of years now that Anonymous is dead. The old members of Anonymous would be laughing at these idiots trying to hijack it for their own causes. Remember the rule "Anonymous is not your personal army"? Essentially, a bunch of left-wing radicals decided to take over a name that stood as apolitical except for freedom of information and the Internet. It's really time we start ignoring anyone who calls themselves by this name, because it's just pathetic now.

Since when did Anonymous get infiltrated by a load of Neo-Marxists? I mean it... this is very very weird compared to their normal malarkey about Governments being... Governments...

They are now venteruring into not only the tool of the Bourgeoisie but also into the Bourgeoisie itself...
(Saying that Marxists of any form wouldn't qualify Zynga of all people part of the Bourgeoisie)

All I feel I can say to Anonymous is:
Oh you!

They've threatened so much, so many times. They rarely succeed and they never have as big an impact as they claim they will. They're not really a big threat. The World is more than the Internet and they don't have nearly the amount of power over the world that they think they have.

Whatever Annonymous claims to be, I'm pretty sure fighting for "The American Way" was never high on their agenda.

What do they mean when they say:

"With a billion dollars cash sitting in a bank," Anonymous states
Didn't Apple hit the headlines recently for, with their massive market share and hype machine, just managing to achieve a billion dollars in cash reserves.
I doubt Zynga have as much spare cash as Apple.

This is obviously someone with no concept of the quantative aspect of money, I'd say this is an empty threat, but really most companies' online security really is so terrible I kinda don't doubt that some determined angry teen could manage to work their way into the corporate emails.

P.S. Anonymous, Bonfire Night is when the English celebrate the state execution of a Traitor who fought the law and the law won. You're accidentally venerating the symbolism of your own downfall. Well done.
Maybe next time don't go to Hollywood for your history lessons.

...Why does the Escapist report on these threats?

I just cannot understand.
They report them, like the main stream media reports terrorist threats.

We need too know so we can write our Congressmen and Representative demanding action be taken against the threat to society Anonymous poses.

Knowledge and voices, these are the two greatest weapons imaginable.

I honestly don't believe that they'll follow on with this threat to take them down on the 5th of November, because they never do it in the end.

Last year, they threatened to take down Facebook and Fox News on the 5th of November. And what did they do in the end? They only took down Fox News' Twitter feeds. Wow. Revolutionary or what?

Seriously Anonymous, grow up and fight things that are actually worth fighting for, or else just get lost off the internet and society in general.

I can't help but read the title in Bane's voice.

"Zynga will burn to the ground."

No, wait, that's Joker.

"When Farmville is ashes, you have my permission to die."

Zynga... a comapny that by all accounts has used shady business practices and is or was run by assholes and you choose now to attack it for outsourcing... by basically using the tactics of blackmailing and bullying... if anonymous had any moral fibers its next target would be anonymous.

I always thought the whole "they're takin our gerbs" was more of a populist thing than marxist which would rather be saying that the Indian workers are being exploited by western companies.

Didn't anonymous promise to destroy the internet a little while ago? Where did that go?

Huh. Well that's rather... pathetic, isn't it? Targeting Zynga, really? Going for that low-hanging fruit, eh? Oh well, even if they went through with it, it wouldn't change much. Zynga has always been a shamelessly profit-driven corporation with miniscule integrity when it comes to the gaming industry, and I'm willing to wager that their employee policies aren't much better; and I doubt any form of threat would change their entire policy as a whole. That's if Anon follow through with it, at all.

Is this a legit anon threat or a splinter group? Because this is so not worth Anonymous' time. Why bother shooting a dying man when watching him bleed out is far more satisfying.

Zynga was famous for hiring fresh out of Uni programmers with no prior experience. I'm more than a little sure some of those laid off had or have ties to anonymous.

I think it's more personal than Anon lets on.

Maybe anonymous should come with creative advice on how to fix the economy so jobs aren't exported (or help that company to make more money so they wouldn't have to lay off workers) instead of bullying them.
